Ok.....I'll say it....Toni BAttie....if he is bought out by Jersey....he has hisotyr with the C's. He is close to PP. HE would be a good vet of the bench....he comes cheap.

Now you're getting my hopes up. I don't see any reason why he'd be bought out other than the fact that he's a vet on a team pretty likely to go to the lottery, but sometimes that's all the reason you need. A tandem of Battie and Baby off the bench could be pretty great actually.

the only way for pistons to send sheed to us without taking salary back is by having a 3rd team under the cap take up the salary difference. Teams under the cap usually have other plans for that cash.

Here's what you are forgetting, and why I think that this trade is going down.
The Grizzlies only have one point guard returning. They had 3 mid-season,
but only Mike Conley is returning. Conley is not known for defense.
Pruitt is an outstanding defender. Plus, any mistakes Pruitt makes
will not jeapodize home court advantage in the playoffs like they do on the Celtics.
A few mistakes in games that the Grizzlies are going to lose anyway won't matter.
The kid could turn out to be a Solid performer, since Pruitt has the QUICKS & SIZE.
What he doesn't have in Boston is the ability to get playing time or make mistakes.
It's an excellent fit. He only has one year to go for $800,000 and then he will
be a Restricted Free Agent. The Grizz should love this.
Similarly, OJ Mayo is not the biggest of SG's. Quentin is defensively fine on the
bigger more physical players, but Quentin Richardson is not that quick anymore,
especially with the xtra pounds that he's put on the past 3 years.
JR Giddens is lightning quick, strong, with long arms, an outstanding rebounder.
He can learn under the Grizzlies, and could turn out to be a player.
The Celtics can't afford to risk home court in the Playoffs letting him make mistakes.
The Grizz can. Giddens is on the 2nd year of a rookie contract for a #30 pick from a
very strong draft year. Giddens is perfect for the Grizzlies, or the Clippers.
Lastly, Brian Scalabrine can execute plays, has an outstanding work ethic,
and high basketball IQ. He is in the last year of his contract for $3.4 million.
While that might be $1 million too high for what he does, he does space the floor
and would be an outstanding role model for the young Grizzlies.
Since Hakim Warrick may not be returning as a Restricted Free Agent who
the Grizz may get outbid on, the Grizz PF rotation
is 2008 #27 pick Darrell Arthur and 2009 #27 pick tweener forward DeMarre Carroll
(note: a tweener forward is a forward too slow for SF and too weak for PF).
Carroll is 207 pounds.
So, this makes a lot of sense for the Grizz, if they can walk away with these guys
for something like 2 second round picks (1 to Detroit, 1 to Boston).
You could argue that in this year's draft, Giddens was worth a #20 pick,
and Pruitt a #35 pick.
