Stuck Inside of Memphis w/ the Memphis Blues

Post#1 » by Andrew McCeltic » Wed Jul 1, 2009 8:13 pm

Chris Wallace apparently wants to give David Lee 10 million a year for 4 or 5 years? And the owner is vetoing it? Why turn down a trade for a 20-10 PF who's only under contract for one additional season after this (Randolph) only to blow your capspace on Lee? Plus it's a huge bid on a player whose market value is probably only slightly above the MLE. The Knicks are unlikely to keep him, the other teams with cap space aren't interested.

Maybe this board should collectively volunteer its services to Michael Heisley as an outside consultant.

David Lee for that much money after they just got rid of Gasol, who is a much better player? I don't get this signing. You would think he would learn from the Darko mistake of a few years earlier.

I seriously don't know how someone looked at Wallace's resume and liked what they saw...hmmm Kedrick Brown...great draft choice....Vin Baker: phenomenal signing, you're hired!

Lee is not a 20-10 PF. Hi stats are inflated because he played C on a smallball quick tempo knicks team.

He is a solid player but you don`t pay role players 10 mio per year.

I take it back, at least getting Randolph makes some sense.

I can see how we look at Memphis because their GM worked for us (unsuccessfully). But that franchise is really nothing to care about. Their only purpose in the NBA is to stash some 15 random players and jump in for some trades to make other teams better, while not developing their own pieces over the time.

Forget thinking about them. They will never be in the playoffs again until sold and relocated.
