Why else would they sign Ben Gordon? They've got Stucky for the point guard position and he's not big enough to play small forward.

They don't have to. They've now got a nice 3-guard rotation, and BG is happy coming off the bench (unlike AI). BG can play the point just as well as Stuckey, or can play alongside him. If I were Dumars I'd hold on to Rip, because he's not going to get equal value in return.

Ric Bucher mentioned something about detroit trying to trade rip to utah for boozer, which got rejected. Check his twitter page, i'm feeling lazy

I feel like that should be the start of the core of a trade between these teams. Utah could use Korver as trade bait as well. I would like someone like Korver if Eddie was ever traded.

What part of "Rip pouts when he has to come off the bench behind a likely HOFer"? don't you understand?

Ben Gordon was happy comming off the bench his rookie season. Now that he is fresh off of signing a multi year contract and playing like the second comming of Ray Allen in the playoffs, he's absolutely a starter. i can't see him comming off the bench. I can't see detroit paying him that much to come off the bench.
Detroit has ZERO depth for their bigs. They're going to turn RIp Hamilton into a decent big guy... which is hard, because small for big trades are rare. Stuckey and Gordon are gona get serious minutes, they can get reserves for them pretty cheaply... especially because Prince gets solid minutes at the 3 as well.

What sort of big could they get for Hamilton? Randolph has been moved. Dalembert?

Dalambert wouldn't be bad... though Philly has a glut of wings already.
Boozer or Okur would be a great move because Maxiel and Amir Johnson already rebound and play good defense for them.
If NJ is willing, they might be able to pluck away Yi and a 1st rounder. HIm and Devin Harris make a great backcourt.
maybe a Murphy and Dunleavy combo from indiana?
Jermaine O'neal and a first rounder?
lots of possibilities, they jus tneed talented depth at that spot.

No way the Hornets owner would take on that contract, maybe if it ends up with a 3rd team facilitating. Who would take Rip and give NO expirings?

I am convinced they will move him to Charlotte along with Kwame for Okafor and Raja Bell(or something along those lines). Detroit would get another former Huskie to start(along with Charlie V. and Gordon), a big, and a solid vet for the bench. Charlotte would get a proven offensive machine(shooter) to put out there with Gerald Wallace, and a big man to replace Okafor. Rip would probably be the best player the Bobcats have ever had on their roster. Also, it would team Jordan up with a Jordan Brand athlete(Rip) and a former pick of his (Kwame). If they developed Kwame more it might make Jordan look a little smarter.

They traded Amir Johnson for cap room to sign Villanueva. Defense and rebounding out, scoring in.
