Rondo "We'll see" about championship

Post#1 » by Iamabeasttt » Tue Jul 7, 2009 10:19 pm

Rajon Rondo is not predicting a championship for the Celtics next season, despite the addition of free agent Rasheed Wallace, who is expected to sign a mid-level exception contract tomorrow.

“We’ll see,’’ Rondo said before the Celtics smoked Utah, 87-56, in a Summer Pro League game last night. “It’s early. [Wallace is] a proven player and it gives us more depth.’’

Rondo noted improvement in some of the Celtics’ main rivals.

“I mean, everybody else is [improving],’’ he said. “Cleveland is. LA’s improved - they won the championship and they tried to improve. Even Orlando improved . . . I don’t know if they’ve improved, but they went out and got Vince Carter.’’

Not many players in the NBA are going to predict that their team wins a championship.
Reggie stood out like a sore thumb no tattoos no agenda no chirping nothing Just a guy who could score at will He played college ball at Northeastern he replaced Larry as Celtics captain he belonged to Boston.
And I still miss him. Even now.

LOL - that post makes it seem negative...like Rondo isn't confident in the team. Here's what the Herald did with the same story:

"Rajon Rondo, on hand this week to help coach the young players and free agents, is a little more reserved in his judgment. He is, after all, the starting point guard.

“We’ll see,” Rondo said, while attempting to suppress a smile.

The 23-year-old budding star, known to speak his mind where his elders are concerned, is not one to hand out easy platitudes.

“I think it betters our team,” Rondo said. “It gives us more depth, but it’s early, so we’ll see.”

Rondo brightened when the Celtics’ place in the Eastern Conference arms race was mentioned."

Slightly different no?
