I am glad to see it was a player option and not a gold watch which is what I was expecting that he gets the money whether he plays or not.
This was their guy, Ainge has been after him for years. Sheed>Posey and Posey is till being paid more.

Re: Sheed got 3 years
I'm fine with it. Whatever it took to get him here imo. At the worst, he's just an expiring in two years. As long as we have him here within our window, then I'm fine.
Also, can we let Durant in 2011 go? It's not going to happen. The only way we have a chance at him is if he takes the QO and becomes unrestricted in 2012 and I can't see him doing that.

Re: Sheed got 3 years
ughh, homer vision in full force.
first of all, why is everybody acting like it's Posey vs. Sheed thing? I can't see how does the signing of Posey last year affects signing of Sheed this year. and no, Wallace is not better than Posey at this point of his career. He's strictly a bench-level bigman who can shoot threes, can't defend the pick-and-roll and pretty avrage in all other areas. Robert Horry type, without the clutchness.
second, Ainge blew his chance at repeating by not re-signing Posey and sighing garbage (Moore and Marbs) at trade deadline. if this year's team had Posey, even despite all the injuries, they would have a legit chance at the rings imo. you add Posey to the squad and suddenly Pierce's legs are not completely dead by the end of the season, suddenly you have somebody to put on Lewis (Celts had nobody who could guard him), suddenly that Chicago and Orlando series are not going to game 7. every single contender team this season had a major flaw and most of all they were all soft. that's what Pierce was talking about in his "rottweiler" comment. Celtics were literally one good player away from going to the Finals again. Posey was that player.
