My thoughts exactly. I'm far from crazy about Bruce Bowen at this point in his career, but if a deal for Nocioni or Posey or whatever 3 is out there can't be completed and we don't land/go after Barnes, Bowen would be a useful piece to the puzzle.

He can come in for 15 or so minutes a night, defend and hit the open 3 while making no stupid decisions and not hurting the team. He could be the last minute defensive replacement that we've looked for Tony Allen to be, but that he is too dumb to be (see the multiple awful fouls). Bowen's reliability has value when you are looking at Tony Allen, Bill Walker and JR Giddens as the swing men backups right now.

My only concern would be that Bowen can't really eat up enough minutes to really limit Pierce and/or Ray's minutes in the regular season.
