Wallace can still play nice defense. I thought he played KG pretty decent in the playoffs 2 years ago and still didn't look half bad last year after coming off of a broken leg.

Definitely willing to take a flier on Wallace.

That's exactly how I look at it..

Actually I'm willing to bet Ben lands back in detroit for a min contract. They are short on cap space and bodies at the moment and will likely need a couple min bigs to fill out the roster.

i think he still has some game left in him. wouldn't mind seeing him come off the bench as a 4th big with the vet min. definitely an improvement over moore or one of the sl bigs we could get.

That with a team with a pretty good chance of winning a championship. So now Phoenix has given him $10 million so that he doesn't need to bother playing. And folks thing he'll come here for the chance to get a championship for $1.9 mil or less?

If he was thinking about not playing for Cleveland for $14 mil to try and win a championship, it's really not realistic to think he'll play in Boston for less than $2 mil to try and win a championship. Just move on.

Exactly my thoughts. If he would have had the slightest interest to play, he would with Cavs, but since he wasnt interested in bigger than he is worthy now salary and nice contender team, it would make no sense whatsoever for him to come to Celtics for pennies.
Who would win one-on-one in HORSE?

Bird: Nobody beats me in H-O-R-S-E. Besides, Magic cant shoot.

Magic: Larry, you'd have no chance against me one-on-one. I've got too many ways to beat you. Plus, as slow as I am, I'm still faster than you.

Wallace is not a basketball player. He was effective because of his athleticism which naturally has dropped off with age and injuries. He doesn't have the size for center so he would just be a defensive pf now - we already have 2 of those.

on rotoworld.com they said the Pistons are thinking of bringing him back, possibly for the vet min.

That would be great news to us, because that would all but guarantee BBD being back next season

For our 3rd string center, at the vet min? Come on, of course.

Same sentiments here. He played solid D for the Cavs last season and his rebounding numbers were solid. For the LLE, IMO you sign him and then work on getting something for BBD in a sign and trade.

if baby signs elsewhere, vet min backup, fine by me. He's buddies with sheed and can throw his body at shaq and howard.

Its excruciating to watch him "play" at this point. I'm not willing to go through a whole season of that.

I could see Doc rolling out a Scal/Ben tandem on occasion if given the chance. Gross.

If you could just roll him out thehre for a couple of minutes at a time as a third string center, why not... use up all his energy in short burts, jump around a bit and cause some chaos, then sit back down

as a big minutes guy hes done, but 7-10 a night on the floor with KG, Sheed etc i dont think he would be too bad

Tim Thomas is a better buy out target though IMO

At first when I heard that he got waived, I was against getting him. But after thinking about it a little, I wouldn't mind it for the minimum. Last year, he was still a pretty good defender - 6.5 rebounds, 1.34 blocks and .86 steals in 23.5 minutes of play. Plus, he and Sheed should have good chemistry going together and that frontcourt coming off the bench would make the bench a better defensive unit that most starting units. If we lose Big Baby, he could come in and provide a solid 10 minutes/game during the season after KG/Perk/Sheed with his energy and defense. Although his is an offensive liability, he would help in terms of defense and offensive rebounding. Sheed/Wallace would be a poor man's version of KG/Perk.

though id preffer Diogu if Baby leaves, Ben would still be an option
