Scal and TA for Daniels? Am I wrong or is something off?

Post#1 » by No1CeltsFan » Sun Jul 19, 2009 1:00 am

I'm trying to figure out the trade rumor of Scal and TA for Daniels.

That would mean we are giving up 6M$ in salary for Daniels via the trade. That doesn't make sense. Why would the Celtics pay him 6M$ when he will sign for 1.2$M? Wouldn't they just do that and save them over 4.5$M and keep those 2 players for another possible S & T?

There has to be another player in there, no?

TA is a bum at least scal has a heart and will do anything the coaching staff says whether its being a solid practice player, starting a game because of an injury or waiving a towel. If TA listened to the coaching staff and had heart he might play but he doesn't have any of those attributes. I will celebrate when he leaves the team. TA is the most overrated talent on this team in my opinion. TA always came off as me type player not a team player. Scal is what he is a role player but a team player. He is this celtics generations ML Carr. However if he is traded oh well I just prefer TA leave. Marquis Daniels is a heck of signing.

Scal never played 40 minutes a game or averaged 18 points before playing for the Cs. ML Carr did. Carr also played more and put up much better numbers as Celtic than Scal ever could. If anything, Scal is this generation's Rick Carlisle

Scal is better than TA. End of story.

Hahaha. I haven't read a kind word about TA in like a year. You make it sound as if we're all still drinking TA cool-aid. I think those days are gone man, but apparently still in your head ...

TA was still being talked about by cedric maxwell as being a player who could step up and that you either liked him or you hated him when he was on the big show this past year. Also dwestside your right that Ml Carr was a solid player before he joined the celts I guess what i meant was that Ml Carr who was with the C's is the same as scal but ML was a better player prior to coming to the celtics. Here is a better comparison is matt bullard who played for houston when they won there championships. If Ta and scal could combine and be one player with the basketball smarts of scal and the talent of TA we would have a solid player but TA has to go scal has proved especially the last two years he can fill in and play well when KG was out and he put up good stats this year and played within himself.

Indy must be getting rid of a bad contract like Tinsley's. Because as is it would be better to just let Daniels walk then get Scala or Tony.

Daniels actually has value beyond his contract. The only reason other teams would want to take Scala and Tony is to get rid of someone they don't like.

The reason Bird might want Scal or TA is to have some expiring contracts to play with.

I'd think TA would be more valuable, as he could actually fill Daniels' role. I know everyone here has given up on him but when he's healthy he is still a player. Bird might just feel like he needs a change of scenery, which might be true.

On top of which, we'd be sending a couple of young kids, maybe Walker and Pruitt. For a rebuilding team they might have some development value, Walker especially. As for Pruitt, they probably figure that anything's better than Diener as the 3rd PG.
