Why does everyone assume that if we get TJ Ford that Rondo will be traded... Ford did play some backup minutes to Jarret Jack last year so why couldn't he be a backup here... Just because he is a good point guard doesn't mean that Rondo is going to be traded.

We aren't going to pay someone 8.5 million a year to come off the bench. I see no reason why Boston or Indy would do this deal if its T.J. for crap.

Ik the we would be able to find a way to make it so the 8.5 million wouldn't be a problem through a sign and trade... they wouldn't even try to get him if they couldn't... but ik we are not going to trade Rondo with these moves we've made to sure up our bench... It is a good point on the 8.5 million and I have no idea how we could make the 8.5 a big deal... but ik we only would get him if there is a way we could do that.

It is absurd to think Ford is coming here so lets stop getting people hopelessly excited and straying from reality. He split time at PG with Jack for most of last year, and on many occasions they shared the floor. But we already have an undersized 2 who shares the floor with Rondo: House. Ford is definitely a 30+ MPG guy and he will not be OK with garbage minutes, regardless of the chance for a ring. Hes young so he wants floor time, he commands too much money, and we don't need him.

He wont replace Rondo because hes not the same type of player, hes more fragile, and we could have gotten MORE for Rondo a month ago. Plus we have been killing the league the last 2 years and we just added Rasheed and supposedly Daniels.

If it aint broke dont fix it!

If Ford was a combo guard or worked well with Rondo, I could see them bringing him on for $8.5 million. I just can't see Rondo getting less than 33 minutes and can't imagine Rondo & Ford on the court at the same time together, as neither can shoot.
