But that is Also why Sacto scoffs at this trade. Could say

(Thompson > Baby) Check
(Rondo > Evans) Check, for right now, but Evans has even bigger upside.

So the trade seems to balance out in one sense, but only if Sacto thinks Rondo can have a bigger impact in improving the team and filling seats. Otherwise they are giving up two >'s for two <'s. CAn't have it both ways and say, well Rondo is overrated let's trade him for two young studs. In other words, I don't think Danny will be drinking the Malouf Bros. milkshake.

I really like Evans, though--- he was #2 overall on my draft board so I'm into the idea of a trade for him even though the reality of a trade for him is unlikely. We'll see if he turns out to be as good as I anticipate. I'm sure Danny inquired about him and any other good prospects out there. That's his job. And apparently it's your job to come up with far-fetched trade ideas, cfan79, so more power to ya.

Why would the owner of the ball pump needle do this?

Because Cfan is an expiring? (some Boston fan will off him after reading this thread)

It's not such a bad trade. So we get some depth with Evans and Thompson. Thompson is a good interior guy and Evans was just drafted with the 4th pick, so it's not a terrible trade. And picking up Iverson fills the PG spot. We get a PG that can shoot and some much needed depth. And all for the price of Rondo.

Between you and tombattor it looks like Red arguing with himself. :D

Basically, one condition is the most important and must be met: Does any move made give the team an equal or greater chance to win this year?

Second important condition is how the move effects the team's development in the future.

I think many would agree that Thompson/ Evans gives us a better future, but threatens the 'bird in the hand ' we already have. Therefore maybe doesn't meet the most important condition.

Personally, I think this trade makes the team in both short term and long term IF we find a qualified vet PG to come in for low money and compete for the 'Chip.

Not convinced that A.I. is the man for the job, but he has to be in the conversation at least. I'd be looking to leverage some of these pieces in to an offering to Philly for A. Miller

We possibly add Miller to start plus Wallace/Thompson/Daniels/Evans as bench in one off season. Hell's yes!

Arrrgghhh, great dummie post.....to add some beef to replace BB, we could pick up Antoine for about $830,000, that'd be a steal.

I'd rather get punched in the dick 82 times a year than have to watch Iverson try and "run the point" for this team.
Love that dirty water...

I think Rondo is overrated - but this is a bad idea. There is a difference between overrated and not good at all. AI isn't really a good PG for a team with alot of offensive weapons - at all.

I love cfan, but that is a ridiculous trade proposal to which I have no response to.

Much love homie, Peace.

I don't see why it is so ridiculous though. Rondo and Baby's values are at an all time high. We'd be trading them for kickass replacements and saving money in the long run.

Yeah, this trade makes a lot of sense.
