After helping the San Antonio Spurs win three championships and establishing himself as one of the premier perimeter defenders of the decade, Bruce Bowen is retiring at 38.

A week ago I would've bet that Bowen was intending to sign with the C's but now I guess we can add him to the list of players that Paul Gaston traded away too early.

I am glad. I didn't want the C's to sign him. Its hard to root for a team employing a goon.

Bowen was actually a Boston Celtic in the 1998 and 1999 seasons. He was a great fit on the Spurs, his defense was dirty at times but he really helped them win the 3 NBA titles in 2003, 2005, 2007.
