Godmoney, I don't think anyone disputes that rondo had a horrible series against orl. you keep bringing it up as if that negates everything else he's ever done, including the fact that he owned the chi series. as bill said, rondo was placed in a role against orl that highlighted his faults, mostly because of the injuries we suffered. ordinarily he wouldn't have to play that role. it's partly coaching too.

yes, he is a flawed player and not a top-5 pg. but he is also young, improving, and damn good already. rondo isn't a great defensive player (he has the tools but not the focus), but he does have great vision and passing ability, amazing quickness and speed with the ball, and a great rebounder. the list of guys in the league who can get to the rim against anyone like rondo can is pretty short.

Well, you forgot to mention the crick (click?) in his knee. All in jest. Seriously, the facts to date do not support a simple case of bone spur or cartilage damage. There's more to it, but that has not been revealed to the public. Or has it?

And, we all await in wonder at the active 12. Everyone agrees with the Top Nine, we wonder who will win out as the 4th wing (Tony, Giddens or Walker), who will win out at the 5th Big and actually get to play in the blowouts (Scal or newcomer Williams), and will Doc use a classic Auerbach Active 12 with another PG (rookie Hudson) or will Doc be Doc and give the spot to a veteran (favorite Walker?).
