I don't believe it really matter with this team. But, if it happens to be Ray, it'll allow Pierce and Garnett to focus more on other areas, namely defense. Nonetheless, Pierce will remain as the go-to guy in general. I would prefer him and Ray in that role especially in the fourth quarter. Because you need Garnett and Perkins' defense and rebounding down low in case of a missed shot. And Pierce and Ray act as the team's best decoys. Here's where an improved shooting Rondo could come in handy sometimes. Because you can't always drive to the hoop, you don't always get the calls. No player on Boston knows this more than Pierce. You might can say the same for Rondo. But Rondo must really become more proficient from the free throw line. Pierce is proficient, but he tends to be inconsistent at the worst of times.
On paper, Pierce will continue to take the most shots. However, what you'll like to see is more production in less time. Perhaps, Rivers can manage to pull that off given the personnel additions this off-season. I don't want there to be such a reliance on the starters. The second unit really needs to be just as effective in games as the starters. That is, you trust them against the opposing team's starters. Of course, Pierce or Ray will always remain on the floor with the second unit. I just thought that next season you don't have to do that. That's when you know you've a deep and consistent bench.
Would be ideal if Walker could emerge as the regular offensive threat with the second unit. Conversely, I rather that role not be assumed by Wallace or Daniels, their versatility is where they each help you more.

Pierce will get his usual. Garnett will start slowly, and Ray Allen should regress a bit this season.

I don't expect Pierce's attempts to change significantly, the more balanced attack is only going to leave him one on one more. That said there are quite a few teams in this league that are not built to compete in the NBA. I don't know that Doc is going to continue to leave Pierce on the floor for 20-30 point drubbings to get his numbers same for Ray. So the more beat downs the less Pierce is likely to avg.
I know there is this belief that for some reason Ray Allen has to get worse but I don't think it is likely. While age is a concern with everyone the reason it is magnified at the SG spot is the ability to get by defenders. While Ray has remained very athletic and durable his game has never relied on that skill as much as his shooting stroke. He is unique in that he is a 20+ per game scorer who was primarily a shooter, his volume and accuracy are pretty singular. He takes 13-14 a game and nearly half of them are 3's. With his form I think his 3 pt shooting will be the last thing to leave him. Much like with Pierce, the enhanced roster is going to allow Ray to find the space to squeeze that shot off which is the one thing father time will likely take away. Let me add the most telling words in the history of sports "contract year."
I think the addition of Wallace and the development of Perkins is going to impact Garnett the most statistically. I am actually concerned that he take enough shots to stay consistent, because I think he will look to hit the glass and burn up the defensive end. In the end the team is better served having Pierce, Allen, House, and Wallace bombing 3's with KG on the glass than it is having KG even making half of those 20 ft 2's. That said with the diversity in the offensive options perhaps KG evolves his game a little and looks to get in the paint a little more and succumbs to the obvious pressure he will get from Pierce and Wallace to take a step back.
I am think Pierce 19, Ray 17, and Rondo, KG, Sheed, 12-15 ppg range, with House, Perk, Baby and Daniels completing the murder's row of 9 double digit scorers.

It'll either be Paul or Ray, but with Sheed, this is a more balanced team, for sure...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
