I think he should get 28 mpg easily. Especially if the roster stays as is. While I like Eddie House, I don't think he is the kind of player who is worthy of 18 minutes on a championship caliber team. So I'd like to see Daniels take some minutes from him behind at the two guard spots. If Marquis gets 28-30 minutes we should get 10+ pts, 4 reb & 4 ast.

Maybe a steal. Rondo is gonna average 2+. But the stats the people posted above seem legit to me.

His injury troubles do not make him a good pick for fantasy & I'd be very surprised if he breaks 10 ppg. Rondo barely breaks 10, and Perk doesn't even score 10 a game.

Last season our high scorer off the bench was House with 8.6 ppg, Leon, Big Baby, and TA all averaged around 8 ppg as well. Keep in mind that Leon, House, and Tony are all very efficient scorers, more so than Daniels. Now we have added Sheed, who will likely be the high point man off the bench, and Eddie, Baby, & Tony will still get a good amount of reg. season playing time IMO.

Reading into Ainge's comments, Marquis will be in the game mainly when Rondo is out of the game. When Pierce comes out, House will come in and Ray will shift to the 3. When Rondo leaves, Daniels will be playing a point forward along with House & Ray Allen. If All 3 of Pierce, Ray, and Rondo are out of the game, i.e. a blowout is happening, then Daniels will be playing with guys like Tony and Big Baby rather than Ray and KG. Rondo's only out of the game about 10-12 minutes, & in the end I expect Marquis to play about the same as most bench guys last year, 18-20 mpg. Rondo and Daniels are not a great backcourt pairing because of outside shooting and that will be the limiting factor for Marquis.

The way I see it, with Marquis we've expanded our previous season's rotation by 1 player, a backup 3 that we never had. If he manages to take all of TA's minutes, and we run a 9 man rotation, I'd project him to have stats comparable to his 07-08 season in Indiana. 8.2 ppg, 1 steal, 2 assists, 3 boards, and as always bad FT and 3PT shooting.

I think Daniels will get close to 28mpg. He and House will get all the minutes behind Rondo and Ray, and Daniel will get more minutes backing up Pierce, though someone else will probably share Pierce's backup minutes with Daniels - TA, Walker, maybe Baby?

Rondo averaged 12 last year (17 in the playoffs), Perk avgd. 12 last year, and Marquis will break 10 ppg this year. Injuries will occur and Daniels will be starting some games this season so 28 mpg isn't a huge stretch of the imagination but I would drop that number down to 24. If Daniels plays about half the game I would expect him to average 10 points, 4 boards, 3 assists and a steal. Guess Who's Coming To Dinner? Natty Dreadlocks.

PG MINUTES will be the same as the 2 previous seasons, Rajon 31, Eddie 17.

Pierce AND Ray should finally be able to come off the court a bit.

Instead of Ray Allen playing backup SF like last year,
figure Daniels to get all the backup SF minutes, which I'm guessing will be like
Pierce 34 mpg / Daniels 14 mpg. The one reason I fear Doc may leave Pierce on the floor
won't be to win, but to give Pierce more minutes early in the year to help his stats
to make the All-Star team. That's BS, but front offices do stupid sh*t like that.

Backup SG is more interesting. If Ray is finally and sensibly cut down to 34 mpg,
then who will get those 14 mpg. If Daniels is going to be on the floor when Rajon is out,
then Daniels could conceivably get 28 mpg. But, I think Doc will try to work a 4th wing into the
rotation. From Pierce's recent comments, the 4th wing would appear to be Tony Allen.

This bench could average 30ppg on a nightly bases :o which is prretty amazing when you think of the fire power in the starting unit. And there's no real defensive weakness anywhere. I think Doc is gonna have a good time coaching this team.

It is difficult for a bench player to get much more than 22-24 mpg because of rotations. If it is a situation were you are bringing a starter off the bench like Manu then the difference is made up closing out the game. I don't see that role in Boston for Daniels. I am actually not expecting him to be real productive stat wise, I think he is job is going to be focused on handling the ball, facilitating the offense, and being a perimeter defender. His primary offensive contribution is going to be freeing Eddie House to play off the ball. It hink the rotation will be pretty simple as House will get the mins behind Rondo and Daniels will get 10 mins a half backing up Paul and Ray.

Perk/Sheed
KG/Baby/Sheed
Pierce 32 / MD 16
Ray 32 / House 16
Rondo 36 / MD 12

28 seems exactly right to me.

^^^ The problem with these breakdowns is that when the C's are going through an offensive slump Doc is going to play Pierce and Ray alot more minutes because they can shoot.

The only way the C's minutes (38 for Pierce and 36 for Ray) is if the team is just killing other teams. That could happen. But fans are just deluding themselves if they think the coach will really rest guys at the expense of losing regular season games.

The two reasons for this - coaches want to win for that home court advantages. And secondly its not clear those extra 4 or 5 minutes really matter in the long term. Yes every time a guy gets hurt its chalked up to playing too much. But some guys hardly play and get hurt. So that's not a convincing theory.

If Danny wanted to rest Pierce and Ray more with Rivers as coach he should have gone out and gotten Mike Miller. Doc loves em shooters..
