Trade Idea

Post#1 » by captain green » Fri Oct 2, 2009 12:53 am

Tony Allen
Brian Scalabrine
j.r. Giddens

FOR

Jared Jeffries
Chris Hunter

Its not a huge return but New York has to trade Jared or Curry.
He can play the 3 and he will take his option for the next year(which gives us another expiring)
Chris hunter prolly gets waived maybe New york gives us a 2nd rd pick.

Trade checker says its got the go. Espn says we lose 1 game as a result but still ok.

Well, as long as it's not game 7 of the finals I guess.

No, seriously, this is a bad trade. I can't see any reason to do it. We at least could get more at the deadline, and if not I'd rather have TA and Scal than Jeffries. We don't need him.

From our perspective, it's not THAT bad...

But New York wants to clear those guys' salaries badly, and the entire league is playing hardball with them IMO. This is taking his salary off their books for free. If the Knicks want expirings, they'll pay through the nose.

Get them to throw in Jordan Hill. I'm half serious, the Knicks will really have to pay a premium to jump Jeffries or Curry.

I like jeffries more than tony allen, but we prolly get more.
I will concede. however I hate haters if you don't like trade ideas don't waste your time reading then posting on them.
the trade seemed decent clears roster spot and gives us length and a servicable sf. but we can get more.

I hate Jeffries after what I saw he was capable of doing for the Hoosiers, then how little he could do in the NBA. He could've been a really special player if his talents even translated a little bit. Then, I'm going to be honest after I saw Jeffries, my initial thought was, "Who is Chris Hunter?"

So simply, no.

I would think trading camels with Kadafi would have a better chance of happening than any possible deal with the Knicks. :)

If we package our expirings for anyone, you'd have to think about Stephen Jackson- who would be a super-Posey off the bench. But it could wreck chemistry if we have too much talent coming off the bench. Especially if Camby comes here mid-season.

Well from the sounds of it, SJax wants out of GSW because he wants to win. If he goes to any title contender right now, he is not going to be a starter, except MAYBE Orlando, if they slide Shard back to PF, the rest have Pierce, LeBron, Artest, and Jefferson. So unless he has the Magic in mind, I'm sure he's expecting a cut in PT.

But imagine a bench where Sheed and Perk split minutes, Rondo is backed up by House, off the bench for Ray and Paul is Marquis Daniels and SJax, and we have Baby backing up KG, but when we go small we have seen Jackson with the capability of guarding many 4's in the league. Just ask Dirk.

The only major injury we would have to worry about our season being over is Rondo if that were to happen. We have so much depth, we could possibly make up for an injury to one of the Big 3 or Perk. Even if Rondo were to be injured, the likes of Jackson, Pierce, Ray, KG, and Daniels are all great either at initiating an offense or at least bringing the ball up the court to give it to someone who can get the offense going.
