I've noticed games start to do more of this though. Madden made their ratings more realistic these days, by lowering a lot of guys.

Yeah I really like this new idea of truly serperating the stars from the scrubs by putting wider ranges on overalls, now they just need to get who is actually a star and who is just a scrub right.

I haven't played any of these games lately, but in the old days the biggest problem was these wide ranges. Superstars were rated like superstars, and any backup or obscure player was rated uniformly horrible, without any respect to what kind of player they were or how they might perform if thrust into the lineup.

Madden got better with that by killing those guys experience and discipline ratings and making them bad for those reasons - in the old days backup WR's would have the same speed ratings as offensive linemen, it was silly.

I would worry that the same thing is happening now, are scrubs now rated as people who have no business being in the league at all?

That's a little over the top. KG is fine. Ray and Pierce a couple better, Rondo a couple worse. Sheed and Perk a couple better as well.

yeah, the ratings for PGs have always been pretty high because of their vast array of offensive skills needed. Rondo is an abbrevation because he has less shooting skills but more defense/rebounding instead. There should be a calculated skill of Height/Rating to measure impact :)
