It's not like we have a team of Bryan Cox's / Charles Oakley's on this team. While KG can annoy people, I think his immense talent and marketability have hardly made him some hated player. Sheed, like Artest, is seen as much comical as hated. I could see people starting to hate on Rondo and Perk, as they play with a swagger/attitude that sometimes exceeds their production. As far as PP/RA go, they're two of the more-respected guys around the league. LBJ almost always includes PP in his list of guys he enjoys facing the most, and Jesus is seen as the best shooter of our generation. These guys are not a who's-who of unlikeable characters, especially when you consider Doc and Danny are two of the better-liked coach/GM combos in the NBA.

Haha, I remember watching the old days of pro wrestling as a kid. Man... it must be almost 10 years since I stopped watching. I would say the Top 6 teams in the NBA are something along the lines....

The Rock: Los Angeles Lakers (Showtime/Hollywood, Fan Favorite, Celebrity Swagger)
Triple H: Boston Celtics (Most World Titles, Impressive Reigns, Tough Competitor)
The Undertaker: San Antonio Spurs (Undefeated @ Biggest Stage, Rises from the Dead)
Kurt Angle: Orlando Magic (Professional Image, Can't Catch a Lucky Break)
Stone Cold Steve Austin: Denver Nuggets (Thug Attitude, Badass Reputation, Brutal)
John Cena: Cleveland Cavaliers (Poster Boy, Excessive Hype, but Most Loved)

With David Stern as Vince McMahon. :D

You can be the most popular and most hated player. (Just like you can be the most popular and most hated team. See, e.g., Cowboys, Yankees, etc.) Say 25% of NBA fans consider Kobe to be their favorite player. Probably over 50% of NBA fans hate him. I do. He's a phony.

When we won the Title, we had the backing of a lot of people. I wouldn't say we squandered the goodwill. I just think people resent success.

Our fellas do a lot of talking, too. KG, Perk, Pierce. That contributes as well.

Yeah it is. It's in Memphis after the game in '08. I'm from Jackson, MS so the Memphis games the past 2 years is the only time I've seen the C's in person. But that pic was taken at like 3am on Beale Street (Memphis's version of Bourbon Street). I saw him and Perk, but Perk peaced out and Baby stayed out. I'm making that dumbass face in the pic cause I was trying to talk to him while my girlfriend was taking the pic. ha

However, I will be making a trip to Boston this year to see a home game in person, can't wait for the schedule to come out so I can plan the trip.

Though I like the OP's post for the entertainment value I do think this it's a stretch. We're not THAT disliked. No where near the hate that the "white" 80's Celtics or the belligerent Pistons Bad Boys generated.

Anyone take a look at the NBA General board lately? There is about 5 threads just pure hating on the Celtics. It's getting a bit ridiculous. All I can say is, we are going to be in for an entertaining season.

Do you honestly believe that? As I recall, a fair number of people were rooting for the C's when they first got Ray and KG
