A few thoughts from the Raptors game about our team

First off, I agree that the Raps have holes in their roster and can at best expect a second round exit. BUt your points on Garnett are bull. KG does not play mind games, hes just a douchebag. If he played mind games, he would pick on star players, not scrubs and players he doesn't guard, usually also when the games outcome is determined. This isn't Kobe or Bird talking trash to their man, so don't make that comparison. When KG gets in Artest or Shaqs face, and actually fights his own battles instead of hiding behind his teammates, or on the bench, or at the refs, then you can attempt to make that claim. Furthermore, there have been numerous OFF court antics, that have nothing to do with psychological in game advantage, and more to do with destroying team chemistry, and being a overall douche bag. And even if what you say is true, it doesnt mean that he should get away with his antics. The refs have been soft on KG ever since he came to Boston, so the NBA can latch of the Celtics and Lakers success. The disparity between the lack of calls he gets and the other examples i brought up are ridiculous and indefensible.

And i love basketball, but stop acting like its a macho mans game. Compared to other sports, its not tough or physical, and while there is a strong mental aspect to the game, there is also a huge one in tennis, so your comparison sucks. You guys wanted to know why people are hating on KG, I'm just giving you the answer. I admit the Raps aren't contenders this year, you could return the favour and admit that KG is just a punk.

I think the whole KG picks on smaller dudes stuff is overblown. I'm not going to defend what he did against Calderon, because is was a bit over the top IMO, but trying to make it out as if he was just doing it to him because he's a smaller "white" guy is BS.

He's been in numerous confrontations over his career with guys his own size (and race as if that even matters) including Duncan, McDyess, Odom just to name a few.

The dude's just over the top intense and competitive by nature and this is the way he feels he has to go about getting that "edge" on his opponent. I can understand why other team's fans might not like it, but don't ignore his history to try and paint him as some kind of bully who picks on guys who can't defend themselves.

Id be the first person here to make jokes about menino, the dude is ridiculously hard to understand and has been the mayor for way too long. The morning show I listen to on the way to work every morning actually plays game with people calling in and trying to decipher what he says. Thanks for the link though, got a good laugh.

God, seriously, Garnett has been Garnett for what, like 15 years now? And yet his 'antics' become douchebaggerly only when he wins a championship? You people 'claiming' that what KG is doing now is any different than what he has ever done either don't know what you're talking about, or are letting the championship fuel your player hate. It's all so exceedingly transparent. You loved KG when he was losing and now you hate him when he's winning, okay? That's all it is. Get over yourselves.

KG is a superstar in the league that means hes also a role model to many young kids through out the world. If kids start practicing the KG antics on the court, you all know what would happen. I am no means KG hater or anything but I have never seen KG act like that when he was losing. He could learn a thing or two from Ray Allen, one of the classiest guy in the league.
