indefinitely, isn't even 6 to 8 weeks....

It will take exploratory surgery to better understand recovery time...

bottom line KG and Wallace playing time increases, which isn't good for older players... trying to get to the playoffs, healthy....

While it's true that it doesn't help his trade value, at the same time, he will see a loss of PT and should not ever question why, and he will always have that "immature" quality attached to his name. The reason this is good news, is because that only hurts his contract value, ultimately cheaper to retain him in a few years.

Hopefully the news on the injury is less severe than we are hearing. And hopeflly, he comes back apologetic and ready to roll because as the roster is currently designed, we DO need him.

He should be suspended without pay for as long as he is out...that should teach him a lesson...

In a way BBD wanted this and he got it. Like most people, BBD wanted attention and he wanted to be wanted. BBD know has the attention of the coaches and the owners. They will sit down with him at some point and tell him that they are disappointed in him and they need him on this team for another title. Then all will be good. Until then, Shelden has to fill in as best as he can.

This really **** us. More minutes for Sheed and KG, probably an extra loss or 2 in what will surly be a close race for HCA and we just lost a trading chip. Depending on how the Rondo situation figures out a trade could be possible. A trade could also be possible to bring in a back up point or another vet. Baby was one guy we could stand to give up that had some value.

IMO, this wasn't Baby defending himself from his old teammate. It was Baby getting drunk on Saturday night after the Shogun/Machida fight and then attempting to show his old teammate some MMA moves that he learned over the summer.

What a way to start off the season.

Big Baby needs to chill out and realize that a good run in the playoffs does not mean you can do whatever the hell he wants.

I hope the suspension is a wake up call to him.

Shaq on Baby from Weei.com:
Shaq: Davis will be 'more focused'
By: Mike Petraglia

CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers superstar center Shaquille O'Neal was asked about his friend Glen Davis, who did not make the trip to Cleveland for the season opener Tuesday night because of a reported broken bone in his right hand following a fight with a former LSU teammate on Sunday night. "Well they call him Big Baby for a reason. He's my son," joked O'Neal, who like Davis starred in basketball at Louisiana State. "A lot of people don't know that. He's a great player. I've known him since he was a youngster. He works hard, has been working hard on his game. It's an unfortunate incident but one thing about him is he's a focused individual so he realizes he may have made a mistake so he'll come back more focused than ever." The Cavaliers held a brief shootaround at Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday morning. For more, visit the Green Street blog.

2 be honest I don't think it's that big of deal, sure the depth hurts but, I think sheldon is going to turn some heads. I think he's going to play way above his pay and baby will add depth 2nd half the season.

kg 28 minutes, sheed 12 minutes, sheldon 8 minutes
perk 30 minutes, sheed 12 minutes, sheldon 6 minutes and scal will be healthy after a week in for fouls an heady play.

also big baby is just that a big baby sick of his antics and we have not even played a single game yet..

It's easy to pile on BBD at this point, but let's view this a little more objectively. sure, it wasn't the smartest move, and the timing sucks. but let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater here.

to me, this is not as serious as getting a DUI or having an unlicensed gun in your car. those are acts of premeditated stupidity. this sounds like either horseplay or a fight, which bad as that is, occured at davis's home. it's not like he was out at a bar at 2am.

yes, it sucks, and this doesn't reflect well. but 6-8 weeks is far from the whole season. at worst he will be back after new year's. still plenty of time to be a big producer down the stretch.

i agree with whoever said Wyc needs to handle this sort of thing a little better. it's just not good for business to fly off the handle about such things. these guys are still young men, and some less mature than others. hopefully Glen will learn from this and move on. he's already come a long way from the pudgy, happy-go-lucky kid we drafted. this is just one more step.

Good points, Particle. The 6-8 week timeline certainly makes things easier to swallow.

Wyc was obviously speaking from anger this morning, and he has obviously mellowed from that, especially since it's not as serious as previously thought. It's now a 'teachable' moment. I doubt he gets suspended though--a big fine seems more appropriate.

If he gets suspended he can't use the teams training facilities.....the C's would like to keep an eye on him so he will be ready to go when the thumb is ready.....also the weight issue.

Time for Perkins and Shelden to step up. Perkins IMO, needs to play about 34-38 minutes a night like he did in the playoffs. He is still a youngster. We need to still keep KG's and Sheed's minutes down to 30 minutes or less.

PF: KG 30 minutes, Sheed 12, Williams 6
Perkins: 36 minutes, Sheed 12.

Done. I think Perkins is going to be the key.

Man, NBA teams really have a load to handle. They pay these young guys so much money. Of course they're going to go out and do crazy/dumb stuff.

that twittering account wasn't him
