New End Game Lineup?

Post#1 » by celticfan42487 » Wed Oct 28, 2009 1:35 pm

Well we saw Perkins missing shots. We know Rondo can't really make any. And the move offensively was to put Sheed in for Perkins... yet Sheed is so good on defense we only trade some one on one defense for shot blocking driver coverage...

Is this the start of a new trend? Will the end of game Celtics now be Sheed,KG,Pierce,Ray,Rondo?

or is this a matchup situation against the Cavs?

Also, how will Perkins take to this demotion? Will he get overly concerned about his 10 footer?

We did the same thing with Posey two years ago all the time. I imagine that's how we'll close most tight games.

I honestly thought the reason Sheed was in there because he was actually doing a better job against Shaq. I suspect that when we play Orlando, Perk will finish the game. It's great that Doc now has this option. We are going to be extremely difficult to finish games against.

Well, it's basically an offensive substitution where you don't lose a lot on defense...pretty ideal for any coach. I remember Doc complaining a lot that Perk and Rondo in at the same time can mess up spacing so this doesn't come as a big surprise. I bet it is THE go to crunch time lineup regardless of matchups.

Perk did a fine job on Shaq in the second half. I don't think Shaq scored in the second half.

Its better to have Sheed out there. Better spacing for Paul and Rondo to go to work. Plus the defense doesn't go down a whole lot.

The problem is we have Rondo in on offense. He is terrible...we should be playing House in the closing minutes...

I don`t understand what the point is of having Rondo stand on the three point line when Pierce plays one on one...

in close games against good defensive teams (like last night), i think they use wallace in those instances. he just spreads out the defense so much it creates a pick your poison senario because you can't leave a big open on the perimeter.

Doc will probably decide it game by game. Hopefully by the end of the season Perk will have fully developed his 12 foot shot and improved his post game to make himself to important to take out.

I think it's a risk reward. House brings the needed spacing. But in the do or die situations Rondo can be an X factor with a game killing steal, offensive rebound, ect. He just brings a lot to the table defensively and on the boards. Whereas House's shooting is neccessary for spacing.

I think we'll see Sheed and KG as the end of game lineup more and more as the season goes on in the end of games. That just gives us the best chance to win and the most options.

I think there will be times when we see Daniels or House at end of games. However, Rondo brings a killer mentality at the end of games and even his jump shot seems to improve when he is in a clutch situation. I think it is awesome that Doc has so many options at end of games. I think we could see KG or Pierce or Allen foul out and still have a tenacious team finish out the game.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."
