I think the general tone here is pretty accurate, although there are definitely the two extremes, neither of which I agree with. The guy shouldn't be tarred and feathered for this but there is no questioning it was a dumb move on Glen's part to even be in that situation. He's a professional athlete and I guess you could say a celebrity of sorts. That makes him a target. Besides the fact, anyone ought to know better than to chill with such an idiot (his "friend").
As for the "who hasn't done this in their own life" line of thought, who posting in this forum has stood to lose six or seven figures from getting into a fight or breaking their hand? Probably nobody, these are completely different circumstances. He has a lot more riding on his physical wellbeing professionally than many of us do.
Glen will learn from this. He'll learn that it's not worth it to sit on the bench for two months over something so trivial he wouldn't have even remembered it the following morning had it not been for the injury. I've been through something very similar while playing ball in college, and I def. felt like an idiot after the fact. He will too, let's just hope he's still in good shape when he comes back.
