What are the restrictions on trading Base Year Compensation players? I know a BYC player who signed a contract last off-season cannot be traded until Dec. 15 but for what percentage value?
For example, if the C's decide to trade Glen Davis (approx. $3 million) near the deadline, how much salary can they take back? Also, can his salary be combined with other players or does he have to be traded alone?

the answer is we can take back 50% of his salary in the 1st year, and 75% in the 2nd year. you can certainly combine salaries, and the TOTAL from both sides has to be within 25%. so it's really not that hard to trade Glen at this point.
