LBJ is only 25. He has such a big window that current rosters and cap numbers are almost irrelevant. If he wants to win championships he should look at 2 things when selecting a team: the quality of the management and the amount of money they're able to spend. My money is on NJ/Brooklyn.
I'm just sayin' is all...

No matter where he goes, he is 1-2 years away from complete dominance of the NBA for 6 years. With a solid defensive big man, a point guard to get him easy baskets and another all star player he would already have 2-3 titles. But he is close to being able to win a title with a mediocre supporting cast.

He has always been very good but he becoming so dominant defensively that it will soon be lights for any team he doesn't play for.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I love heinsohn wrote: I have to check the dollar figures, but they might be able to send something like Yi, Dooling and $3 million cash to TOR along with a 2010 and 2011 pick (since they have Dallas's pick this year), then the Raptors would definitely take that over losing Bosh for nothing.

So the idea is that they are nearly able to sign 2 max guys, and by sending Yi/Dooling back in the sign and trade they're able to stay under the cap? And Toronto gets a huge trade exception? I think that might be possible under the cap rules.

Still doesn't make much sense for Toronto, I seriously doubt they'd do that. They let NJ assemble a squad of superstars just to get Yi and a couple of low picks??? More likely they tell NJ to give them Lopez instead of Yi, or else to have fun trying to sign Bosh for 12-13 mil per instead of the max. And tell Bosh to have fun in the lottery with the Knicks if he doesn't want to resign.

My principle is that if a trade idea is justfiied because ''it's better than losing them for nothing'', then it's a pretty silly idea and the team would almost definitely be better off calling the bluff and risking losing them for nothing. Unless the other team has leverage. Which a team that doesn't have cap space for a max contract doesn't have. Only Chris Wallace is interested in handing a franchise player to a team that has no leverage and could not get him otherwise.

Too early to really make any predictions but if Gallinari keeps playing like he did in the first 3 games it is totally gonna change the situation IMO. Gallinari is currently playing like a future all-star and lights out shooter. If he keeps this up than he is gonna be in the same category as Mo Williams,Brook Lopez,Devin Harris after the season and a big reason why Lebron might consider joining the Knicks. But right now , WAY too early to tell.

I'm not a huge fan of Al Harrington, but he complements Lebron well enough and is expiring this season anyways. Gallinari is probably better than people think, even after his stat lines the first few games. Based on his age/physique and an analysis of last years statistics - it really kinda validated all of the good things people were saying about him pre-draft, and he was primed for the breakout he appears to be having so far this season. I also like Nate Robinson as a sixth man type, and tif they could resign him and David Lee while also landing Lebron, Eddy Curry and Jared Jeffries come off the books the season after.

That all said, I think the Cavs are looking solid once there is more chemistry, Shaq is moved to the bench, and Delonte is back for good. And their cap situation isn't terrible either. And I've never really bought all the hype regarding Lebron having decided to move to NY.

I would think that any team with LeBron would be able to go well over the cap and still be profitable.
