If Davis wants to stay we should keep him.

I don't think he wants to stay. I think he wants to start. And I believe he's a starter on many NBA teams. Just not the Celtics.

Davis needs to man up. He had his chance to play for other teams and no one wanted him. So he is a bench player with us. That's just how it goes. If he beats out Williams he can at least make the rotation.

After Dec. 15th, 2009: Baby, Scal, TA, Giddens (and 1st?) for Tayshaun Prince. Hells yeah.

Are you kidding? Prince is a good player, but that is giving up way too much, especially including a 1st round pick. BBD and TA or BBD and Giddens for Prince.

We already have MD - I don't think Prince is a need. Honestly the C's have no needs. BBD can serve as depth for this team if he can't beat out Shelden Williams. Depth is very important as well. Personally I like have the 10-13 guys that can play when healthy. I think BBD, Scalabrine and TA could all play in many teams rotations. That's a great luxury to have.

You have to give up all four to make contracts work but I agree about the first, we shouldn't send that. If we could get their first or maybe even a swap of firsts I'd be willing to deal the four for Prince.

Yeah, the 4 players are needed for $ to match. The 1st was parenthetical because I think another team may offer more than a BBD and filler type deal.

Maybe add the first if we get something back, like DeJuan Summers. i thought he was a good pick for them but I doubt Detroit wants to part with him yet.

I have to say it is great that we are talking about how to resign Shelden Williams...i really thought he was a scrub but boy he does look useful. I dont think splitting the MLE with him and quis will work, marquis will want more then that after this year. He already took less for the chance at a ring. Shelden is a perfect BAE candidate but we dont have it. Should be interesting if he keeps this up

I like the element that Marquis gives this team, however I do not believe he is worth anywhere close to a full MLE. He's a guy you play 18-24 mpg, which to me equates to a $3-4 million guy. Unlike someone like Sheed who is talented enough to step into your starting lineup if injuries hit, Daniels is not someone you want to start. I hope he is brought back, but at a reasonable deal.

As for Shelden, while he is playing very well considering the expectations, I think Ainge should continue this strategy that he has employed recently of finding an emergeny big off of the scrap heap. It's only unfortunate that he could not get Shelden to agree to a 1 year deal with a team option.

Well, it's been a week later. He seems to be still doing very well. I like 82games stats. They have a couple metrics that indicate a combined offensive and defensive rating. Williams is doing very well on both. Over a +12 net PER and a Roland Rating of +10. These are huge numbers.

Davis had a -6 net PER last year and -6.8 Roland Rating. Obviously, Davis stepped up huge in the playoffs.

Still early, but DANG!!!

Williams continues to play solid. I'm really happy for him. I liked him at Duke and like him now. But I Davis is the better, more takented player. Davis is can take over a quarter or two at times. Williams is a solid role player. There is a huge difference.

Its a great position to be in for the celtics. If we need offense off the bench we can plug in BBD, if we need D we give the nod to the Landlord.

I think Sheldon is quickly making the case that he is good enough to have a nickname in the NBA.
