No mean streak and I don't wish for anyone to fail, but why should anyone deserve help more than anyone else? The only people who deserve a pension after they retire are those who put their lives on the line to keep us safe: cops, firemen, soldiers/military. Politicians are scum and don't do anything except bleed us of our own money...they deserve no pension, not even the president (Clinton seems to be doing fine making $200,000/speech since he left office, to use your example).
Yeah life's not fair, but in a lot of way's it's not sane, either...

LMAO. Athletes already get way more then the 'deserve'. I'd play NBA ball for the perks - travel - fame and daily food allowances and such. They could pay me minimum with the perks you get and I'd still do it. So again I am conceding that athletes DO NOT GET what they deserve. Athletes, rock stars, plastic surgeons, and many others get tons more then they deserve. That's how life works.
What I am talking about is spreading out money that these athletes COULD be getting paid - and taking care of them for the benefit of the league and the players. Yes its more then they deserve. But being paid to play basketball is more help then they deserve. Your argument is whacky..

Pete what it comes down to is I want them to man up and act like adults like the rest of us managing their money the same way we all do, and you want to treat them like children, giving them allowances...we'll have to agree to disagree on this one...

Yeah, what are the chances of SC and Clemson fans on here? We'll be moving to NYC soon, but I'll definitely miss some things about SC.
No kidding, Clemson and USC on a Boston board, ha! Yeah SC was great but we still go down there to vacation and have lots of friends there, plus we know where everything is, so it's all good.
