I know this comment is a joke and all but that's such a bad excuse if a player does get fatter over a road trip. I mean these people are pro's ... eat right FFS.

No I don't get it and thats why I'm asking. I haven't read the reports on Kobe's injury, just heard he had a broken finger.[/quote]

First off - fingers can be tapped together, a thumb can't. Pick up a ball - try to through it (or even more so, catch it) without using your thumb... pretty hard. Now do the same while keeping two fingers locked together... not so hard. You Can Not compare a thumb injury to a finger injury, they are just two completely different things, even more so in regards to Bball.

Second - there are lots of type of 'breaks'. Some are pretty minor and 'clean' and just need time to heal... others are far more serious and need pins and whatnot in order to heal...

This all seems pretty obvious... no?

If their is a doctor on this board, I would like to know the difference between the two injuries from a qualified person. One guy break a thumb, misses over 2 months and has pins put in and taken out. The other guy also breaks a finger and doesn't miss any games. It just seems like its taking Davis a very long time to get back.

Please....my disagreement is with your post, not you. I don't wait with baited breath for your posts to take shots at you....ok.

Whatever. Then attack the post and not me if that's the case with your , "you must be special" comment. It's all good.

GreenMachine, having your fingers taped together does help. But you can still jam that broken finger, even if it is taped. Also defenders are always swiping at the ball and a lot of times they slap the hand along with the ball. One bad hit to that broken finger can cause more damage.

Either way, I can't wait for Glen Davis to come back.

I don't disagree with you... but the fact is that it is Possible to play with a broken finger, while nearly impossible to play with a broken thumb.

ANd yes... Kobe was/is risking further injury by playing with his injury, but that is a risk they seem willing to take.

Even if its possible - Glen is a bench player and his depth might be needed in the playoffs. Why would we risk playing him? We are 21-5 for chrissake clearly we can wait on his injury. KG OTOH - playing through his injury rather then getting surgery right away. That's something we should have griped about.

This team has pretty impressive depth actually. We can miss two rotation players without missing a beat. Honestly I don't think we would miss a beat if House hurt himself either.. I strangely believe that Hudson could step in. I never felt that about Walker or Giddens after seeing them play..
