OT- best nba game for me

Post#1 » by Hemingway » Wed Dec 30, 2009 5:53 pm

Need some help from all the video game nerds on here. I want to get a game for my PC but the last one I had was nba live 2001 so I am behind the times. I don't usually play the actual games but like to be GM of a team for 25 years or whoever it is set up. What game has the best GM mode do you think?

Damn, I think NBA Live 2001 was the last one I played on PC too.

I'm like you, I only really like playing as a GM in a simulation mode rather than playing the actual game. I have NBA 2K10 on the PSP, but I assume it's similar to the PC version for simulation. It's tight. I don't consider it 100% accurate, such as drafting Rondo made my team way too overpowered (he won like three Finals MVPs instead of Dwight Howard who I also had on my team IIRC), but it's a video game, you expect that.

It's better than my last experience with Live (which was 2008), which I couldn't get a winning record out of the team that eventually won the 2008 Finals (Boston). I'm pretty sure my main problem with it was it forced you to detail every practice or your team would fall back, whereas 2K10 can do it automatically. I might be speaking out of my ass and don't actually remember what went on in Live 08, but if you're behind on the times, I'd go with 2K10 since you shouldn't have to micromanage as much. It's been widely accepted as being the better of the two for some time now I think.
