CeltsfanSinceBirth, trust your self, not me or Doc. Scal flat out sucks, he has had his chance. No one, including myself is asking for Giddens to get 25-30 minutes a game. But 15-20 would be nice for a few weeks, especially with Pierce out.

All I know is Walker or Giddens couldn't possibly be any worse than Scal has been up to this point.

Giddens has done nothing warrant getting any minutes. When he has played he hasn't stood out. Only reason he's still with the team is for money towards a trade. Hell the team was trying to give him away last year to open up a roster spot.

Doc thinks Scal is better than JR.
You think JR is better than Scal.
Doc sees him play everyday against NBA players.
You saw him play against college players 2 years ago, against NBDL players last year, then saw him hit uncontested jumpers during pre-game warmups.

LMAO. Agreed. To the other poster - listen the NBA coaches generally know what is up - Doc included. Where they go wrong (and GMs too) is in the initial scouting process where they don't get to match these guys up against other NBA players for an extended period. I think if this had happened we wouldn't have drafted him. We got burned by a AAA guy - older then most of his teamates beasting on a weak conference with his superior athleticism for that level of competition, IMHO. Its not a big deal it happens to alot of teams.. Danny has some weakness for his own WAC conference. That's the likely problem.

You see this in baseball so 25 year old journeyman hitting like .350 with power in AAA. But most of em go nowhere..

Tanguay just said on CSN that JR will get his first start tomorrow, don't know if he was joking or really meant it but we will finally get a glimpse at JR!

That's exactly right Joselo16 because up until this point, we haven't seen Giddens play for the Celtics. The 3 minutes a games every other week doesn't count. That's why I don't understand how people here that call them selves basketball fans can say Giddens sucks.

^^No not really. Gerald Green averaged 10ppg with us and played a whole season and is still out of the league. Its Giddens mental game that's so far behind. I have no doubt he can come in and score some points and grap a few boards like a Gerald Green. But can the team run the right sets - can he make the right cut or pass. Those are the questions that will make and break him.

Why are you using Green as a comparasion? It took Rondo a while, because Doc played him over Bassy. It took Gomes about half a season because Doc played him over Reed.

Why would you say Gidden's mental game is so far behind? Are you going off his 3-4 minutes of play, when he plays once about every 10 days? I agree that when Gidden's plays, he looks lost out there. But that may be because he doesn't know what the team expects from him. It's also because he hesitates too much because he doesn't want to mess up because he doesn't know when he will get in a game again.

Well Giddens gets his chance and does nothing with it. Hopefully when never see him get 20 minutes again.

Well, I think the majority's point was proven last night. Not saying one game should define a player, but a game, a contract not picked up, Doc seeing him everyday, etc...add up to something and that something stinks. He looked completely lost out there, especially on offense when he received a pass. Oh well, the good thing is I think our bench, when everyone is healthy, will be strong. Davis somehow just finds ways to get it done. And even though he is shorter than most at his position, he powers that ball up and has such a soft touch, he makes a lot. Then again, the wonderful Toronto defense had a lot to say about that.
