We should try to get Gomes and Sessions

Post#1 » by cfan79 » Sat Jan 9, 2010 7:05 pm

They seem like great choices to have off the bench. Its obvious Doc doesn't want to give Walker and Giddens minutes so we might as well just trade them. We'd have the best bench in the league hands down if we could somehow make a deal

Walker, Giddens and 2 expirings should be enough. Because they seem like they want to free up some money.

not sure we would be able to convince them to take a lesser deal than they could get ..
but scal, bbd, tony bad seed allen, and giidens I think would get us kenyon dooling, terence williams jarvas hayes and josh boone.
they would get a cheap big the rest are expiring contracts saving them 6 million dollars.
We get roster spots filled for cheap and decent youngish players in boone and williams. and our pg problem is solved for at least next year and we have a s(hayes)f to put in there for current championship hopes drop him next year, sign eddie again, resign ray, rework the truths deal' add two picks and a mle free agent and back in to champion talk next year as well. They way we have it 7 player on next years roster we need about 7 more ray eddie two picks and boone, williams, and dooling,
and a mle would make roster at 15. but I would prefer gomes and sessions for sure over my trade just think this is more realistic.

Timberwolves fan here.

Just want to say Sessions will be hard to get because they wouldn't have signed him if they wanted to trade him for expirings a few months down the road. Rubio can't come over until 2011/12 or 2012/2013 (I think 2012/13 is more realistic). In the meantime, Minnesota has only two point guards with Sessions and Flynn (so much for our point guard depth). Personally I think we need three guys who can play point guard, but that's just me.

Gomes on the other hand will seem more likely for you guys. Minnesota has Jefferson, Wilkins, Tucker, Cardinal, Brewer, Love, and the rights to Pekovic. But I believe the general consensus from the Timberwolves board is they would prefer some type of pick for Gomes and I think that means a late first.

Jammer and I have been saying this for weeks. We need a long tall solid 3 to back-up Paul - Ryan Gomes would be perfect. And a real back-up at the point for Rajon.

I do not know what to think about KG. Orthopedics is not my expertise whatsoever - except for a couple of personal injuries that I have sustained when I was younger and played ball more often. I have no idea what the ramifications of a "hyperextended knee" are. In reality, are we looking at another long long period without him?

I also dislike how Doc (when quoted for public consumption) not only does not give details, but acts so "blase" and "whatever" about it.
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.
