Lester had no future here and we don't need a rookie PG anyway especially while Rondo is here. We just need a veteran PG as long as Rondo is here.

Don't know why Danny keeps drafting these rookie PG's. Gabe before then Hudson ... we don't need them.

dont understand why Memphis would want him. They already have Conley, Tinsley, and Marcus williams but i wish him the best. I dont think he is NBA material but he tried hard and seems to be a good guy.

Good for him. I hope he makes it. Anyone who thought he was going to help this team is nuts.

He really seemed to put in the effort, I wish him all the best. Too bad it didn't work out here.

Glad he was picked up. I liked the kid and wanted him here, but I still want to see him succeed.

I've been saying since Hudson arrived that Memphis should have an interest in a
"local boy." And they obviously did. The coaches and scouts in Memphis
should have seen a lot of Lester in college.

He already has helped this team--in his pregame battles with Rondo. In his only real live game opportunity, he also played a decent game against Toronto as well, helping a short-handed squad get a much-needed W. The deck was stacked against him, but he's an obvious NBA-caliber player, more talented than about 1/5 of our current roster.

With another coach, he could have helped more and done it this season. And by next season he'll be a better NBA player than Eddie House ever was in his life.

I would have kept him, the $400,000 be damned. It's not like we haven't already basically eaten Giddens' salary--why not just cut him and keep the better player? Oh, the super valuable $400,000, that's why.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

He had no place here, I'm glad to see him get a chance elsewhere.

sadly, undersized SGs are literally a dime a dozen in the NBA.

i like Les. i think he's got a future as an end-of-the-rotation player, which is pretty good for a #58 pick. but lets be real, it's not like we just gave up on Joe Johnson.

he may or may not be better than eddie next year. but it doesn't matter. we can always find someone to plug into that backup SG spot.

if he ever develops quality pg skillss he will be much more valuable, but that's way more than a year away. he wasn't going to help us in our championship runs, and right now that's all that matters.

You really think the Celtics would have let him go for a mere 400g if they felt he could help? You don't know what goes on behind the scenes. And please, don't put too much into Rondo's comments. What is he going to say? "Man, Lester sucks. I kick his ass everyday in pregame battles." Lets think rationally shall we and not with the green colored glasses. And don't get me wrong, I have bifocals, with two shades of green, I just can't believe that if he could help, they would have cut him.

If you like Lester Hudson like I do then you should be very happy for him. Lester gets a chance to continue to play in the NBA. Hudson wasn't going to get a chance to play for the Celtics anytime soon. Good for him.

You have got to be kidding me. He showed nothing that showed he deserved minutes or that he'd ever be able to hold House's jock. It would not shock me if he's overseas next season and then never heard from again.

I think it's too early to tell either way on Lester. I'd bet he does have an NBA career though. He moves well, is coachable, and has a number of skills.

This wasn't so much about money as roster flexibility. If Lester was the second year player, and Giddens and Walker were rookies, one of them would have been cut instead.

I wonder if this is a precursor for a trade with Memphis, like the Alston/Quinn movements last week.

The Celtics have a pretty strong connection with the Memphis front office...

Just a thought.

I really doubt this is anything other than dumping a late draft pick before we have to pay him.
