That's the same stupid idea people used to justify the Gasol trade. If a team's bad, they'd might as well make themselves worse to save money? Maybe they should just fold the team if that's the case, since apparently retaining good players in an effort to improve doesn't make sense when you're already a loser...
Its doesn't look like a stupid idea now. Trading Pau made them bad enough to get higher picks and save money. Now they are a possible playoff team because of it. Who knows if they would be if they kept Pau.

Even if we had to take on both Dalembert & Kapono to make that happen, I'd do it.
Ray Allen, Brian Scalebrine, Eddie House & JR Giddens
Andre Iguodala, Sam Dalembert & Jason Kapono

I brings the ruckus to the ladies!

Re: We should trade for Iguodala
Obviously all star voting is a joke, but it's not like Philly fans were crying that he deserved to be in because they knew he was just not good enough. There is a reason they are trying to unload him. They are paying a non-franchise guy, franchise money.
52% TS for a sg. No thanks.

Are you a Lakers fan or something? They were already bad enough to get higher picks. If they had kept him, they would have a fairly similar team with Pau instead of Zach Randolph, who has put things together for a half season - who knows if that will last, and he's still nowhere near Pau's talent. Sure they're lucky that Marc Gasol, the Lakers version of Ben Pepper, turned out to be pretty good, but come on.

Re: We should trade for Iguodala
Who cares about TS% ? Iggy is a better play maker, gets to the line more, and would make our team a monster defensively. He's 26 and his presence would also allow Pierce to save himself for the offensive end / playoffs. I also wouldn't be that worried about floor spacing with the starters seeing as Pierce has actually been our best 3 point threat this season.

TS% takes into account getting to the free throw line and still is not enough to give Iggy a respectable number. So I guess you could say I care about TS%. Also, Pierce has been so open from 3 this year because of the spacing Ray Allen provides. People severely underrate Ray's presence on the offensive end. Pierce/Iggy would be a mess together.

Iggy's having a tough year shooting the ball, but he has career 56 TS%, which is 1% less than Ray Allen's pre-Boston 57 TS%.
You can't give Ray credit for Paul's 46% 3pt shooting. He shot 39% for 3 consecutive seasons prior to this one (2 with Ray, 1 with Gerald Green!) and then started shooting the lights out this year. Pierce has thrived with a vast array of wingmates, and he'd continue to do so with one of Iguodala's caliber.

Re: We should trade for Iguodala
Another reason to get him.. if its only going to take expirings the Cavs are talking to them.. and I would hate to see Lebron/Andre line up on the other wings come playoff time
