"Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!"
Remember the Rockets in 1995.
On the playoff run to their second title, the Rockets became the lowest seed (sixth) to win one, and the only team in history to defeat the teams with the four best regular season records in the playoffs. It was on the floor of The Summit after they captured their second title that Rudy Tomjanovich proclaimed, "Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!"
In a way I still think we can make it...we just lost the will, energy and hunger. In playoffs I expect us to be 100% focused, motivated and with a lot of experience.
We are still the same team and remember last year Orlando series. We took them to 7 games with starting 5 minus Garnet and a bench of Marbury, Hause, Scalabrine, Moore.
This year KG will be back and our bench Daniels, House,T.Allen, Davis, Wallace can not even be compared to last years so much better it is.
I just want a sf, good defender that can spread the floor and hit 3pt. Otherwise with Daniels running the point we just might be ok. As long as Cleveland does not make a trade for pf we are right there.

Positive thinking only takes you so far. This team is severly flaed and only a good trade or two will make it better.
If Danny doesn't deal Ray, he has given up on the season.

Agreed, I'm a huge optimist, sometimes blinded by it, but not currently!
We need some changes, point blank...

When the Rockets won it all in '95, they made a trade mid-season for Clyde Drexler. This team needs a Clyde Drexler to get us back with the elite teams.

The Celtics would have to get through a playoff draw that included beating 3 of the 4 following teams after the 1st round:
Hawks
Magic
Cavs
Lakers
Yeah... right.

no you see if the celtics just wanted to win every game they would win every game. it's called positive psychology, if you want something bad enough it will come true. the celtics need to repeat "banner #18" 1,000 times before they sleep each night and when they wake up and it'll come true

^ I predict at least three game-losing 'Sheed meltdowns in the playoffs, along with many back-breaking threes...that clang off the back iron and break the Celtics' backs.
Yeah, I'm a Sheed hater. **** that lazy bastard.

^I was so excited for Sheed to come to the team during the offseason, but since the season's started: to say he's been a disappointment is an understatement...

^Lazy chucking whiner. Didn't we used to have one that wore number 8? At least that guy cared for a good 6 or 7 years....

The upsetting thing about Sheed is he was good even last year...not as good as 6 years ago but still solid...and then he shows up this year flabby and doesn't give a ****...

Re: "Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!"
Everyone expected the Celtics Big 3 would get Rasheed to play well which required him to be in shape. He should be banned from the 3 point line to force him to be the low post scorer that he is good at. I'm shocked at how lazy he has been on defense. I really expected KG to put the fear of god into Rasheed.
P.S. Rasheed played like this the whole second half of last year.
P.P.S. he is signed for two more years so this could get really ugly if someone can't get him to play

You really need to open your eyes and watch this team play. I'm as big of a Celtics fan that I know, but I'm not blind. We need a youth injection stat!

In athlete-years, 30, 31, 32 is like being 60 in real life...not that old but close to retirement with skills still operating at a high, yet diminished, level.
