I'm so rdy for Crawford. Makes 3s + provides instant offense + he'll be polarizing and people will force to choose sides.

I choose fun. I choose crawford.

This is one of the things I have thought for a while.

I pretty much just wanted Ainge's plan but on a major amount of steroids.

Imagine the Celtics with IT/Bradley/Smart who I did want or want to keep, Wiggins, Towns/OKafor(as trade bait or Knicks guy), plus another young player and all of the picks except for perhaps the 2016 Nets pick that the C's currently have.

I believe NBA players are rational nowadays and such a team even with 38 wins this year instead of 48 would get a pitch meeting with both Horford and KD. And be in even a stronger position since only an idiot doesn't expect young playes to improve.

When even Dwight Howard was smart to leave the Lakers it was a sign to be that the NBA as a whole really had changed. Contracts matter and Howard was horrified by the Lakers treating Kobe like he was some superstar when he was going to be closer to scrub level moving forward.

Players probably still do not want to go to small market teams like the Bucks but even the Bucks with their right assets/cap room would be attractive to KD.

Draft picks are huge currency especially when they are lottery. Role players can help win you a title(Battier and Ray Allen) in Miami but they can also lose you a title...see GSW this year with Barnes and the Warriors centers getting hurt and not coming through at all.

With Boston, the only player KD is really betting on is himself and Ainge to not F up a winning hand.

Awesome, man, congrats!

I'm on my way back to Cambridge, hopefully I can send out some good vibes by being home for the weekend.

No, but his future sports # will be whatever Durant goes with in Boston (#35 or #9) and I'll be sure he knows the reason why

Now that the Celtics have a shot at Kevin Durant, it's going to be disappointing if he doesn't come to Boston.

Im still rocking that Larry Bird jersey and if Durant signs I probably won't ever take it off. Either way I definitely plan on going to the first game of the season.

It's between Boston, OKC and Warriors in particular order.

Relax...........go catch some sun and drink some beers. It's all good. I'm about to take my act outside in a half hour and spend time with my family and drink some cold ones by the pool. Nothing is getting announced until tonight anyway.

I'm thinking 9am Monday at the earliest, but there could be a suprise tonight (for better or worse).

More on that here: http://www.normantranscript.com/sports/kevin-durant-s-biggest-risk-in-signing--year-deal/article_0b2997b8-4139-11e6-bb4d-bb2be360555a.html

I thought he was going to sign a 1+1 regardless of who he signed with?

That's possible, but due to lack of bird rights whoever else signed him would have to retain cap space to resign him at the maximum amount.

There is one final scenario: Durant signs a "1+1" elsewhere in 2016, then re-ups with his new team on a four-year deal in 2017. However, doing this actually costs Durant a good deal of long-term money. Due to an odd quirk in the CBA, Durant's new team would need cap space to sign him to a full maximum contract. If they don't have cap space, the team can only sign him to a four-year deal with a first-year salary that's up to 120 percent of his $26.6 million salary in 2015-16.

We should be able to make it work though. The caps expected to go up another 12 million next year. Should give us enough wiggle room. Though I hope he just takes the 4 year max. Would make resigning some of our other young guys much easier.
