Re: Anthony Davis requests trade, part 3
If I’m the Pelicans, I don’t even pick up the phone from the Lakers. That’s just an insulting offer. I know it’s a negotiation, but that’s pathetic. That offer isn’t even worth calling into the league.
Also, if those are the type of deals the Pelicans are getting, we are keeping Tatum lol.

Maybe AD don't wanna be in Boston...so he doesn't have to go through that every practice
There's only one statistics that's important: who won...Bill Russell

CeltsfanSinceBirth wrote:The obvious move by the Lakers is right under their noses, but they're too stupid to see it - offer Lebron for AD. Pels take that offer because Lebron sells tickets. Lakers get a stud who hasn't reached his prime yet and is almost 10 years younger, they have max cap space to sign a guy like Kawhi in the summer, plus they have all of the young kids left.
Ball/Ingram/Kawhi/Kuzma/AD
I would laugh if they did this, because Lebron would be stuck in New Orleans for 3 years, piling up stats on an irrelevant franchise.
Imagine that phone call being made to Rich Paul. Lol
That would put the "DAVIS LOVES LA" spin to the test though. Why would he want to surround himself with worse players than he has now?
"I don't know of any player that, when the shot goes up, he doesn't want it to go in," Donovan said

Not to mention Klay, Butler and DeRozan. Why do people keep falling for this lol
Because none of them signed with Brons agent, had dinner with Bron and asked for a trade when Boston was the only team that couldn”t trade for him.
Thats why.

All I need now is for Rich Paul to have someone say something to the effect of “I dont want AD to go to Boston cuz its racist” and I’ll hit Bingo

Exactly. Winning has a way of changing things. Just get AD in front of our crowd during the playoffs and have him feel what it’s like to be appreciated. He’ll stay.

You're completely missing the point with KG. Danny didn't trade for KG until he was able to persuade him to re-sign with the C's. Particularly, it took adding Ray Allen to get to that point.

Re: Anthony Davis requests trade, part 3
Anyone have any AD dreams/premonitions last night?
Yesterday I spent the day saying ok these Kyrie things must be taken out of context, then found out they were. Ok this AD won’t play in Boston bc of IT must be some sort of fake news and that isn’t even a real quote, then realized it was his dad and later AD jr. says he hasn’t given the Lakers any kind of list. I went to bed like so many of you. Pissed at Lebron and the Lakers more than I usually am. Fully ready to say **** it I don’t care if AD comes out and says he won’t resign let’s get him just to screw LA and Lebron.
I said some dumb **** to friends talking about it because all this bs spin is so frustrating, much like Kyrie seemingly did yesterday. I’m right there with you Ky!!

The only way I wouldn't be on board with getting AD is if he says he's sitting out next season if traded to the Celtics. I mean a direct quote, not his dad.

Your completely missing the point:
AD has repeatedly said the only reason he’s hesitant is that theyre unsure of Kyrie’s long-term commitment. If we trade for AD and Kyrie resigns, all of this is moot and AD is happy to be here long term. Kyrie resigning is the “Ray Allen” trade.

Re: Anthony Davis requests trade, part 3
So what are the chances that all this bs Lebron fed rumor mill stuff is a good thing? Could it unleash a sleeping giant in our roster that hasn’t been able to find that chip on its shoulder underdog mentality all year long? That’s been a staple of Brad teams including last year when Gordon then Kyrie went out. What if it’s awoken “suck my dick” Kyrie?? What if most of gordon is mental and this helps him to get over the hurdle. What if Smart somehow some way has another notch of intensity. What if Tatum, Jaylen, and Rozier have some combination of this could be my last chance on a contender for awhile so time to let it ride and I still want to get paid and show I’m a high end player so time to step up my game? The schedule is favorable this month until the end. It’s a perfect time for us to really come alive when we’ve already started making up ground in the seedlings!
YOU DONE MESSED UP L-E-BRON!!!

Winning does change things, except that KG gave ainge the assurance that he would resign, otherwise ainge wouldn’t have done that trade. The signing of ray allen, and the trade request of kobe from the lakers, gave us the edge that time. If AD won’t give assurance he’ll resign with us, then i doubt ainge would get him.

Re: Anthony Davis requests trade, part 3
AD knows that if a team empties its assets to get him it makes it a worse situation. By saying he’s not interested in Boston now, it makes New Orleans think it might get less from Boston and accept less from LA or others. AD wants to contend for a title right now and only way that happens in Boston this year is if Kyrie is traded - and he doesn’t want that of course. AD can easily back off from “Boston is rental” if he doesn’t get traded now in the summer, especially if Kyrie resigns with us.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Ainge will make the trade for AD without assurances. You take risks like that for generational talents [not the Philly definition, where Nerlens Noel was a generational defender and Jah Okafor was a generational offensive big and every other scrub on their roster is considered a superstar—the real definition].
Kyrie will walk if we dont trade for AD. Personally, i’d prefer taking my shot on Kyrie and AD staying longterm than rebuilding again. Worse case scenario? LeBron never wins another title and were rebuilding a year later.

I think that both AD and Kyrie would sign this off season. Kyrie would resign if AD would. Ainge ain’t stupid. He didn’t sign KG until he’s convinced he would extend, and he won’t sign AD if he’s not convinced he would as well. He built to have this many assets to give it all away on a rental. So if ainge trades for AD, then we are sure AD gave some sort of commitment. Im not worried about the lakers. They don’t have assets to really entice NO to do the deal this deadline. and their season is already **** in how they played this. alienating their young players.

He might come, but definitely a rental!
Firmly disagree
Never underestimate people's need for defense mechanisms. So I get why people take a pessimistic view and tend to believe every negative rumor, no matter how silly or implausible. Why they feel the need to post those negative views here, over and over and over -- now that I don't quite get.

Im just excited for everything post thursday:
-If AD is on the Pelicans still, I feel extrordinarily confident we get him [86%, to be clear]
-If AD is on the Lakers, Im expecting Ainge to have trades Kyrie and Yabu for DSJ , DAJ and that unprotected Mavs first.
I can honestly get behind either path (though I would clearly prefer the first option)— I just want to know at this point.

Do you think the knicks would do that trade though? Seems lopsided for the celtics
