Damn this is why I seriously wanted the mini rebuild for this season or at least to start the season... Take on a couple of bad expiring contracts and get rewarded for it.

Memphis did great here. I think they got a steal with just top 4 protection and then top 1 protection in a draft that will have high schoolers. Iggy probably accepts a reasonable buyout before end of season and they get a Warriors first round pick when Klay/Curry/Green are all old. Frankly in this messed up NBA, I am surprised Warriors had to pay that much to get rid of 1 year of Iggy. First round pick is normal but the protections on that really favor Memphis.

Iggy is still a decent older player.

Exactly. They just handed Middleton a 170mil contract, have giannis, now this nbd. And the Celtics are Jerking it over 9 mil. And Wanamaker.

Okay if we really do have the MLE (not at all clear that we do) and not going old (Noah) or boring (Koufos) who wants to articulate a position for Vonleh vs. Cauley Stein? Is MLE going to emerge as the market for these guys?

That would be good news. He's got potential and we need to find out what he can really be. But we still need a more veteran big.

Vonleh probably goes for Ed Davis money. WCS I thought would be more than MLE..but who the **** knows..Rozier got 20M :lol:

Thing is we need whoever we sign to be damn likely to be able to play a lot of games and minutes. Cousins is the riskiest choice (other than Pau:) in that regard.

I don’t even think GSW can offer the MLE. Could be wrong on that but yeah, he was playing for nothing last year. Not a lot of options for him left, though outside of LA. He didn’t really rehab much value during the year
