There are 10 players left from initial 20 player roster, probably all 10 are locks.

Harrison Barnes
Kemba Walker
Kyle Lowry
Khris Middleton
Myles Turner
Kyle Kuzma
Brook Lopez
Jayson Tatum
P.J. Tucker
Donovan Mitchell

Walker, Lowry
Mitchell,
Middleton, Barnes, Kuzma
Tatum, Tucker,
Turner, Lopez

So from 5 replacements 2 will make it, imo Smart for sure, looking team is weak at PG/SG position. Than one of big man, Brown imo will not make it.

Marcus Smart*
Thaddeus Young*
Jaylen Brown*
Mason Plumlee*
Bam Adebayo*

I already stated my position in the thread on the General board. Why should professionals offer to play for free during their vacation time unless they are trying to build their brands? Maybe the spouses and families of the more established players take precedence over the FIBA World Cup, where there's no glory when the U.S. wins but intense criticism if it does not.

NBA players from other countries are also bailing out, e.g. Simmons (Australia), Wiggins and TT (Canada) and Adams (New Zealand).

The issue is that the World Cup is secondary to the olympics. It is the B event.

That's why there is a big movement to make the Olympic basketball 23-under. That way, the FIBA world cup is the only way to see stars. Not a bad idea IMO.

Also, this has become work for the Americans. The days of the dream team are over.

There are lots of stars 23 and under.

That's right, it's the "B" event, and top players don't want to give up two Summers in a row, not to mention risking injury.

It’s very possible that players on practice squad will get picked if they shine. If I recall correctly, that is how Rondo got bounced off team around 2010 by up and coming stars Curry, Gordon and Westbrook.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Why is Smart wearing Puma gear? I thought he was an Adidas endorser. That contract ended already?

Barnes is traah if he makes it Id laugh my ass off. Although hes decent enough to beat up on most teams.
Good assessment:

If Fox makes it, than Smart is out imo. Brown as I mentioned in above post also, due to that they will not take 4 Celtics.

Walker and Tatum are locks.
