Nothing matters until they move kemba. Teams ceiling is still the same although we improved slightly. Beal is still demanding out and there’s gonna hard decisions to make in the offseason with this roster let alone anything else

This is just me speculating, but Beal is the new end game for Danny.

And then we’ll get him and hope Tatum jumps or we’ll be saying we need another piece lol but I agree

He’s going to be really good for the Jays on and off the court.
We sure? Were are 132M/2M below the tax with 12 guys undercontract. If someone offers him 15M+, it gets really tough for us tax wise.

Just a hunch... of all these teams that are looking for PG help, no one inquired about Kemba's availability in a trade. Partly because his salary is harder to match but for other reasons too. So we better get comfortable having his bright personality around for a couple more seasons. I'm now weirdly confident he also doesn't get moved in the offseason.

You have any idea how close they were on Gordon or how it fit with their thinking about the luxury tax?
Not a player they thought moved the needle, believed in rwIII and saw the results of the two big lineup, Gordon is also a bozo
So we’re going to see a TT/Rob pairing in the frontcourt..

Agreed. i think he's here at least til next deadline. I think the time is now to move him to 6th man. No "trade value" to worry about anymore. Slot Smart/Fournier/Jaylen/JT/TT as the starters and let kemba go nuts off the bench launching shots.

I think this summer will be all about trying to dump Kemba, which would make things easier.

Are we sure he wanted it from us to be the 4th option?
He's under contract, though.
I also mean "price tag" in terms of what Denver gave up for him.
My bad, I thought you were referring to paying Hayward last summer.

Going forward, the Celtics have all the makings of a treadmill team. Little to no cap flexibility, aren't bad enough to get high draft picks but aren't good enough to be legit title contenders, they lack high-level prospects. Yes I know the team is still generally young, but unless you think Tatum & Brown are gonna take another big jump to being All-NBA 1st team caliber or Romeo Langford is some type of hidden superstar, how bright is the future really?
Essentially I think think we'll basically be like the Blazers with Dame & CJ. Good every year but never an actual threat to win the title.
And the Blazers have been really good at adding talent - Hood (now Powell), Covington, Nurkic..
Blazers have been able to add good players, but their status as a team remains the same - They're good enough to make the playoffs, but not good enough to win a title. I feel like going forward the Celtics are gonna be stuck in that same limbo.
I'm with you it does feel like the window closed on making the finals unless Danny can come up with something big this summer. Instead going forward feels like this team are taking steps backwards going to eastern conferences finals to hoping they make the playoffs this year. Lets hope ownership opens their wallets.

Hence the Fournier move. Anyone is stoked to get the hell out of basketball hell in Orlando. Sometimes I wonder how smitty stands it down there.

Obviously a dream scenario to get a max spot for Beal but wondering if Fournier would erase the dream?
Depends on cap and what he resigns for. 15 mill is probably too much for it too happen.
We can do 4/80m no problem.
So pay him more than he gets now?
Lets say we do.
Let say evan resigns for 20 mill a year.
Lets say we ship kemba for no salary past 202 summer
Lets say we keep out 1st rounders and use mle the next offseason
Lets say we let smart walk for nothing.
In summer of 2022 when we should be chasing beal we will have about 115 million in salaries.
Brown-30mill
tatum-32 million
Tpe player-10 mill
Rookies-5 mill
Nesmith/romeo/pp/grant/timelord- 17.5 mill
Fournier-20mill
And that is only 11 players.

All my best buds I've either committed a brutal technical foul against, or talked Hella smack on. Welcome.

Honestly, would have been great seeing the heat give up herro. Just remove themselves from a blockbuster trade unless they move bam and would have made us a legit threat for beal

Doubling up on this, after going on the radio and basically ruling out using the TPE on a guy he could lose after the season, he went out and did exactly that.
So it’s either Ainge made a complete panic move, or they feel extremely confident about being able to keep Fournier. As fun as it is to blast Danny, I have a REALLY hard time believing this was a panic move.

A 4/80m deal starts at like 18.25m and would be under higher salary caps. So the same money. Hopefully, we dont get leveraged to go higher.
