If Boston actually plays a complete game, like they did game two and not take quarters or halves off it doesn't matter who referees the game.

He still says "we" when talking about the Lakers. You think he's gonna say anything positive about the Celtics, of all teams?
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Look at Comedian’s stats in the last post-loss GT on Page 26.
Bubblegum should have called appropriate TOs TWICE & then sent them back out with effectively designed AT0 plays with multiple options - designed for JT to score or get fouled on the drive or shoot the pull up J, or pass to 7 or Brog or DWhite for the 3 - BUT NOT TO MARCUS BRICKS FOR THE MOTHER **** 3.
But BUBBLES IS INCOMPETENT & incapable of doing this. Once again, he is MORON.

So I’ve said multiple times that the coaches need to find a way to get Jaylen more involved late. And while I think part of it is Jaylen being passive, I’ve been trying to figure out why they don’t run two man actions with Tatum and Jaylen late in these games.
The only thing I can think of is that they’re worried about Jaylen’s handles in traffic against a set defense late in games. I’m not even saying it’s how I feel, I just can’t think of any other reason why.
You keep saying Jaylen Brown is passive. Mazzulla has him standing in the corner while Tatum/Smart do their thing. That has nothing to do with being passive that is the coach saying we are going to rely on Tatum/Smart. Which is dumb.
Tatum/Brown two man game. Put Marcus Smart in the corner.
Worried about JB's handle? Guess what? Tatum/Smart is not working. Win/lose with your best players.
So how do you explain his shots being way down every quarter after the first? I don’t completely disagree about what you’re saying in crunch time, but there’s no way you watch the games and think Jaylen has been as aggressive in the second, third, and early in the fourth, as he has in the first.
They aren’t freezing him out for multiple quarters every game.
There is a fine line between selfish and passive.
I'm not sure who calls the plays, but I am sure that they dont have Jaylen on their mind very often after half time. Personally I think that's a mistake,
The only thing I know for sure is that if Jaylen has a stinker (he's overdue) and we lose the series, this board will be a glorious disaster.

Or Joe can simply call a time out and substitute the 2nd best shooter in the NBA. Especially with the game on the line..
Can you imagine teams double teaming Tatum and daring Malcolm Brogdon to shoot the open shots Marcus smart gets??

Brown 15.25 (-5.35) .574 shooting percentage
Brogdon 14.0 (+3.10) .464 shooting percentage
Smart 12.75 (+2.76) .431 shooting percentage
In my opinion Doc Rivers is winning because he is making the players that he wants to take the shots shoot the ball.
More Tatum/Brown. Please!
This is exactly it ... For those who bring up the stats that are positive in favor of Marcus smart are failing to recognize that he is often dared to shoot the shot while Defenses are literally double teaming Tatum with his man.
And none of those positive shooting percentages reflect on dumb passes and turnovers Which m smart does often.. Not to mention bringing a ball up slowly and given less time for the offense to set up a much better scoring option.

So let’s review the crunch time debate.
The other teams defense wants Smart to take the open shots when Tatum gets doubled every possession.
Smart has a TS of 80% in clutch situations, so he’s consistently made the defenses pay for it.
The crunch time offense has been elite, an offensive rating of 133.
Sooooooooo, maybe let’s worry more about the crunch time defense.

This is actually dead on, but....
Great offense always beats great defense.
My eyes tell me that we are playing good / great defense but great players are making great shots while we take whatever they give us.
I probably need glasses

Who’s to say the Celtics aren’t getting what they want though? The clutch numbers are amazing, offensively.
I agree with you that other teams have made some tough shots, but in the Sixers series, or crunch time defensive rating is 160 lol, 24 points worse than the next closest team in the second round. It’s a small sample obviously, but playoffs are all about small samples.

Embiid and Harden did make a ton of tough shots. What bothers me more is the amount of offensive boards given up.

Any way you cut it, it sucks that we put up an absolute defensive masterclass for 10 minutes of the 4th, then let the wheels come completely off on that side of the ball

What's frustrating about the last play is Brown was right there for a corner 3 and White was by himself at the top of the key for an easy step-in jumper way sooner. Tatum should have gone up with it or passed it to Brown or White. All would have been way better options than what we ended up with. Tatum has got to be better in those situations.

Tatum, in 27 crunch time minutes these playoffs.
17/5/3 on 5-9 shooting, 70% TS, 0 turnovers.
This series alone, he put us ahead at the line with 25 seconds or so left in game 1. Then Harden hit a ridiculous shot to win it for them. Game 3, Tatum hit multiple daggers to help put the game away. Game 4, Tatum hit a three to put us ahead with 38 seconds left. Then Harden, once again hit a huge shot.
Blaming other players when defending a player is weird lol.
I have no problem with anything Tatum does in crunch time. You win or lose with your best players. That's the problem I have with the Celtics. Celtics should be winning or losing with Tatum and Brown making or not making plays.
I love Marcus Smart but he finished 12th on the Celtics this season in field goal percentage. He shouldn't be getting the most shots in crunch time. It makes zero sense.
So I’ve said multiple times that the coaches need to find a way to get Jaylen more involved late. And while I think part of it is Jaylen being passive, I’ve been trying to figure out why they don’t run two man actions with Tatum and Jaylen late in these games.
