So just fyi I'm team keep Brogdon unless and only unless we get a better player.
Also I'm in the camp that brissett is better than Hauser.
As well as thinking we're not done trading but also keeping Brown. So that leaves me to think pp is gone next not Brogdon
Brown's #1 fan on this forum.

You can do it and stay under 2nd apron. And you have even more 2nds and a TPE to use. Especially if you send out Pritchard you can use the full $6.2M and get that 8th guy. Or renounce that and sign a TPMLE guy.

I think it will be a minor miracle if Brogdon is still a Celtic at the start of next season.

Brogdon
Rob Williams
Porzingas
Horford

Thats 4 of your top 7 guys right there.

All MAJOR risks to miss time.

And right now the backups for injury of those guys are

Pritchard
Banton
Kornet
Brisset

That isbreally bad.

Who is Rob Williams? People actually count him as a player?

Team has a great starting 5 and top 2 bench players (Brogdon, Horford). Pritchard/Hauser/Brissett are a pretty good 8th-10th man group for the regular season. Issue will be in the playoffs when you really want to shorten it to 8 guys. None of them are ideal candidates to survive that cutdown.

Hauser is absolutely capable of being a playoff rotation guy.

Capable of becoming that, I agree. But he still needs to develop further for that. Maybe he will with some more experience. I don't rule it out. But on paper right now, that's a question mark.

A very big question mark.

People saw struss and robinson amd think hauser is exactly the same.

Jury is out on that.

If we also lose Griffin, we literally have zero players now who will dive to the floor for loose balls. No one to take charges too.

As a Bucks fan my fave moves of the summer: 1) Bucks signing Khris/Brook 2) Celtics trading away Smart and Grant Williams aka their two best Giannis floppers/agitators

The Bucks chime in.

Looks like Hauser will be well over 2000 minutes next season.

We seriously need another PF/C innings eater to keep Horford Rob and Zinger healthy.

The grit guys aren't as good. This is how our players ranked in some of the key advanced stats categories:

PIE..
1. tatum
2. brogdon
3. brown
4. rob
5. white
6. horford
7. hauser
8. smart
9. Grant

BPM..
1. tatum
2 horford
3 rob
4 brogdon
5 white
6 brown
7 Hauser
8 kornet
9 griffin
10 smart
11 grant

TS%
1 rob
2 hauser
3 brogdon
4 tatum
5 grant
6 white
7 Brown
8 smart

Smart and Grant ranked really low in these. Brogdon ranks higher in all of them.

Also, Brogdon played in 6 more games than Smart last season. I'd be more worried about injuries with Smart.

Lastly, there's no guarantee Brogdon stays with the team - rumor has it we're shopping him around..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

The Denver Nuggets ended their finals drought not because of grit.

Jokic and Murray showed us that a team full of grit in the Miami Heat are no match for a Nuggets team led by Jokic, a guy with high basketball IQ.

Miami was as grit as they come and it was a mismatch in the finals.

Basketball is not the UFC or MMA, basketball is about making shots and making the right plays.

Grit was the thing in the 1990s for the NBA.

Not in this era of NBA basketball.

I wonder if Joe will run an actual play for Hauser next year.

Still time left in the summer, but if Boston winds up where it basically is now, not sure the Celtics improved. After Brad Stevens said Boston had a “green light” to spend, it certainly appears there was a red light when it came to passing the second apron to keep Grant Williams.

Patience everyone. Patience!!!

For a team whose been soft mentally at times. To trade our 2 most physical tough players is scary. But they are also the most likely to get in a stupid dust up cause they get frazzled easy. Idk how to take but it would be nice to somehow pick up a guy whose willing to do the dirty work

At the moment the Celtics have seven central rotation players: White, Brown, Tatum, Williams, Porzingis, Horford and Brogdon. Out of that core group only three seem physically reliable: White, Brown and Tatum.

There's now a true need for some of the deeper bench guys to become more than what they've been. If not, this team could be vulnerable with a few unsurprising injuries.

...or maybe there'll still be another deal.

I think this part is correct. Team is going to want a player or two who are team controlled for 2024-25 too, imo.

Trying not to be TOO annoying in putting this on repeat, but....

Garuba has 2 years left on rookie deal. With Javonte Green having a strong connection to the team, could also see him taking a 2 year deal. Perhaps team option if his other options are tight.

This rosters starting to look like pretenders, more than contenders. You need to add some toughness/grit to this soft bunch. I’m not quite sure what the plan is here?!

Its July 5th. They'll be over the 2nd apron.
