The starters aren’t even playing high minutes…..

That’s the point.

We are arguing over something that isn’t even happening.

IDk about that.
Many feel that the Starters are, in fact, playing too much.

They clearly played too much on Wednesday?

You’re using a one game sample size to determine that the starters are playing too much ?

It’s not about how people feel.

It’s about the numbers.

Tatum is at 36mpg. Everyone else is at 34 and below which is in line with everyone else’s starters.

High is Tyrese Maxey playing 37mpg on a Sixers team routinely blowing out opponents.

Well People. I gotta get to sleep.
It's well past my bedtime.

Starters minutes this year:
Tatum - 36.6
Brown - 34.1
Holiday - 34.5
White - 32.4
Porzingis - 30

This is the perfect amount of minutes for everyone. You’re not playing them too much to the point they’ll be burned out come the playoffs whilst making sure their body’s physically ready for playing those heavy minutes come the post season.

I get those skeptical about Joe not being able to win a championship with this roster because it's true an incompetent coach will prevent a star studded team from winning a championship.

This happened to D'Antoni and Nash.
Both those guys just don't emphasize defense, that's why they never made it to the finals as coach.

Even the Lakers having Kobe and Shaq couldn't win it all with Del Harris and Rambis.

The coach matters.

But what I don't get is saying the Celtics can win a championship despite of Joe.

If the Celts can win a championship despite Joe then why is that a problem?

Isn't the goal to win a championship?

If Joe is good enough for the Cs to win it all then shouldn't that be enough?

Blaming Joe for every Celtic loss is just being irrational.

It's like there's a button being pushed once the Cs lose.

Cs lose and it's Joe this, Joe that, Joe, Joe, Joe...

Did you not want the team to win against Minnesota? Because if you wanted them to lose, playing Payton Pritchard more seems like a good idea.

Starters haven’t played a ton this season and they were in an intense game with a contender, you let them play in that scenario and go for the win

A back to back against Minnesota and Milwaukee is brutal.

We were bound to lose one.

They got stuck in a dogfight last night and the starters ended up playing extra minutes in OT.

Not a big deal.

We navigated 5 games in 7 nights pretty much as well as we could have hoped.

Would have been 4-1 if not for refs allowing noggin knocks in Indy

There's a faction here that are Happy with the Way that Mazzulla played the Players.
And then there's a faction that wants Joe Gone.

That's it.
Let's All Agree to Disagree.

We All Still Want The Celtics To Win Banner 18.

If people want Mazzulla gone on the basis of players being fatigued against an elite team on the second night of a back to back then I don’t know what to say.

I would have thought the people complaining about Mazzulla are more focused on his timeouts, emphasis on 3s etc. Haven’t heard much complaining about minutes at all.

If they do want him out on the basis of overplaying starters or not giving the bench enough burn then that’s a pretty bizarre one.

Horford, Pritchard and Hauser are the only 3 guys is be comfortable with seeing minutes in a playoff series. And it’s not like Mazzulla is pulling a Thibs and playing Tatum etc 42 minutes every game.

We have a pretty **** bench and Brad is on record saying he wants to add another wing.

You're putting words in my mouth.
Play the Bench more, is part of the Point, that some are making.

And it is in no way "bizarre" to want the Bench players to play.
Why are there 14 Players on the Team, and 3 more Two-Way Players?

They are supposed to play. Right?

Not if the team is healthy.

And not in big games like last night.

This is how the NBA works. This is how it has always worked.

Celtics are not burning Al or KP out at all. Both guys are being effectively babied this season.

Yup.

The starters getting high pressure, high intensity reps in the game against Minnesota was WAY, WAY more important than saving them each 5-7 minutes of court time which won't make any difference in the spring anyway.

Can we please keep our eye on the ball here?

True.

Cs still good if they beat Houston.

It will be a 4-2 record for the last 6 games.

Bucks are like a nuclear weapon in hibernation. When they decide to play ball, they can annihilate any opponent. The only thing holding them back is Grief.

Happy for a trade between Joe and Grief if the Gods of NBA allow.

One of our main problems is late game execution. The way we ended the Wolves game was invaluable.

Not really lmao.

You were facing a team on the second of a B2B coming off OT with travel, they didn't have a prayer tonight.

Bucks can definitely score but their defense sucks and Dame is super inconsistent, they're really good sometimes but Dame and Middleton's inconsistency and lack of perimeter defense holds them back

In all seriousness. Let's discuss about it.

Lmao the responses to this are going to be unhinged I can't wait

Reality: Joe's like the 15th or so best coach in the league. That's good enough to win a title if the team is in sync and if Tatum is borderline top 5 and Jaylen/KP top 25

He is nowhere near 15th. He is like Darvin Ham bad. Bottom 3 easily.

This is obviously mostly on the players, sure. But why though? It’s a system where if the 3’s don’t fall they have NOTHING else to land on, they don’t play defense if their 3pt shot doesn’t fall and hey..they don’t like teams that push back. It’s why they struggle with teams like Miami and all these teams like the Magic and Minny who come at them like they don’t give a ****.

People get mad when we complain about L’s in January..but it’s not about the L’s. A loss today would be normal. It’s because the L’s always highlight the reasons why we fall short every single damn year.

God these responses are just brain-dead.

We’re like second in the league in post up points.
We’re second in the league in defence.
We blew Orlando out two games in a row.

We shoot a lot of 3s because it’s a strength, why go away from it ?

I swear we have the worst fan base.
We have been head & shoulders above the rest of the competition but theirs always a certain bunch that overreact after a loss.
Every championship team has a some sort of flaw in their system, stop acting like their seasons done after a loss & just enjoy the ride !

Nobody said go away from it nerd. Read things properly. We said when it’s not there, they have nothing and proceed to get their asses stuffed in, like you probably saw last night. Or like you saw many, many times in the playoffs over the last few years. They were at 23 and stayed there for like 10 mins launching dumb three’s. Their post ups are probably Jaylen Brown fade away jumpers. It’s a poorly coached team, with an overwhelming amount of talent beating up on little teams. The last few tough games we have had we lost to OKC, lost 1 of two to the Pacers(insert excuses here), scraped by the Wolves thanks to a nuclear game from Tatum and got obliterated by the Bucks.

What’s their best win on the road this year? Kawhi less Clippers probably? Meh.

Our coaching is so bad we might reach double-digit in losses before January is over.... Let's give up on the season and just trade everyone.

Return to Boston Celtics
