He wasn’t exactly a project but he wasn’t a sure thing either. There’s a reason why he fell to the Celtics. But yeah I agree draft someone who has at least one or two pro level skill set instead of trying to teach it.

it's experience too. baylor played 4-5 years in college. i think it's easier for guys like that to adjust to the nba than 19-20 year old who don't always have the maturity to understand their role
