Maybe the Celtics got too excited they aren't playing the Magic anymore and decided to chuck as many 3's as possible. Even though the Celts disposed of Magic in 5 games, they forgot about the importance of the mid range game when it came to this series. Brown is usually money from that range but fell in love with the 3. And Tatum is not quite as lethal as Brown from the mid range, but fell into the same trap as Brown. This is stuff basketball players learn early in life. If something ain't falling, try something else to get you and the team going. And whatever Drew Hanlen works with Tatum over every summer, color me unimpressed.

We lost the margins when the game was on the line. Too many offensive rebounds, too many TOs, too many points in transition conceded, too many players left open for 3 and really poor and dumb shot selection
No out of TO plays whatsoever. Disappointing after the good ones against ORL

Welll for one they didn’t take over 60 3 point attempts all series or even 50. They need to be more balanced.

I think Brad cares about that, maybe Sam Cassell, maybe Jaylen and Jrue...
but fundamentally shooting 60 threes is considered a good thing by everyone else with the team.

Joe has said that the most important stat is 3pt attempt rate
so if Celtics shot 60 three pointers and NYK shot 37, in Joe's mind we won the most important stat but only lost the game because of shooting variance

reminiscent of the 2023 Miami series where the Celts were like, "we got unlucky shooting."
which just sucks because it is literally insane to believe that the team that shot more 3's played better and the result is simply variance taking over... and thus, there is nothing you can do.

If OKC can beat Denver, I think they will win it all. I cannot imagine us beat them 4 times, without the home court advantage. But that is a problem for tomorrow. If we focus on the problem at hand, our shot quality is terrible. I am all for taking a truck-load of 3s, fine by me. But that ball has to get into the paint first. Somebody should beat his defender and attack the rim, then pass the ball out if a layup/floater is not available. You get wide open looks then. If you don't do that, you end up shooting the three over the defender standing right in front of you, and those threes don't fall.

Tatum has to build his game from inside out, he’s not a good enough shooter and he’s a very good driver to just settle on 3s. His 3 game, the stepbacks and all are deadly when hes got it going in the paint. As his plan A, its very bad offense

I don't usually overreact to bad shooting nights like this, but JT really took some bad shots late in the game.

They were taking homerun shots in the 3rd and 4th qtr.

Even White took too many 3s.

Forget this series, the Cs are not getting to the Finals if this lack of discipline on offense continues.
