i'll be absolutely morose, lol, that they have learned nothing
and the JT+JB era is one and done as far as chips
i'll just be bummed out

The 3pt shooting does not scare me.

I'm more scared about zoya's post about no defending champ has gone past the 2nd round since 2020.

That's not really a thing though. 5 years is not much to go on. Especially when you consider the fact that this Boston squad is the only one out of those past 5 that anyone would consider to have potential to be a dynasty.

It's great news right? No, because their first practice, today's at seven :banghead: :banghead:

Congrats!
We live for the kids so we sometimes watch on mobile

What team? Hope it is not the Bradley Beal team

I can absolutely never watch on mobile. Especially when the wi fi sucks at this facility.

But what I will do is record the game and watch it late. But in doing so I have to shut off my phone because so many people text me when boston crashes.
I need to watch it like if it was live.
There is no prize for coming so close Do something!

Truth always went to the hoop or mid range in these scenarios. He was a multifaceted professional scorer. Tommy once said that Paul was better on O than Larry - highly controversial (Larry was a God), but, true or exaggeration does not matter. Tommy was a very smart Celtic lifer for almost 60 **** years (HOF PLAYER, GREAT COACH w 2 chips & FOREVER BIASED BROADCASTER) & he said that for a **** good reason.
That is part of why Bron & Kobe BOTH have said Paul was the toughest wing they have ever played against.
The most underrated Super Star of his generation hands **** down.
When they finally gave him the fabulous KG with whom he blended perfectly (instead of the garbage who surrounded him for 9 years), the Celtics won the chip in 08, & most definitely should have won in 09 (tragic night in Utah for KG), & would have won in 10 if not for an unfortunate Finals G7. If they had given him KG in 2001, they arguably would have won 5 rings together.

Tatum is an awesome awesome talent w immense accomplishments during his first 8 years, but in G1, JT & the team embarrassed themselves. JUST DUMB DECISIONS! LEGLER SPOT ON. THAT WAS A DISGUSTING DISPLAY - AFTER BEING UP 20 IN THE MIDDLE OF Q3. In Q2, they were awesome, BTW - but then went brain dead.

Now we have a MUST WIN game.

Wake up, JT.
Wake up, team.
ANNIHILATE THESE MOTHER **** EARTH WORMS TONIGHT. **** BRUNSON UP.
AND THEN WIN IN 5.

Hope Cavs get swept. **** them.
Hope Jokic **** on OKC.

Celtics-Nuggets in the Finals.

The most annoying thing was Orlando took them almost completely off the line and Tatum was an assassin in that high post, then relegates himself to shooting 15 **** 3s because he falls in love with the big on the switch.

LFGK is a character lol, so not co-signing to any arguments he might get into.

...but a lot of folks were convinced that the Nuggets were a budding dynasty until a Minnesota team whose roster seemed specifically crafted to counter the Nugs bounced them in round two, and suddenly they weren't. So it wouldn't exactly be unprecedented if our roster...which seems to be specifically crafted to counter the Jays...pulled off the upset.

Granted the Wolves had had longer to gel before that series, that previous series with Denver to test themselves without Gobert, and the Nugs had lost one of their key rotation guys from their title winning squad. So it's less likely for us to do it, but if we did, there would absolutely be echoes of Minnesota over Denver.

the Nuggets weren't? they have the best player in the world. the 21 Bucks had the most dominant force in the game, Middleton and the young man you guys love so much. I DEF think the knicks are winning the series but that's not what we're discussing here. Good luck tonight.

Oh we know we'll have to be a lot better than we were in game 1 to get any more wins in this series. But I'm optimistic about Karl having a game or two this series like that last RS game against you, or games 3 & 4 against the Pistons...at least if he can stay out of foul trouble *sigh*...and OG/Mikal really stepped it up when Brunson injured his ankle, playing their best basketball over the past couple of months.

So if all goes well for us, Jalen shouldn't need to do it all on his own and we can make a real series of this. Though if you wanted to help us out and keep playing dumb for the rest of the series, I would not complain too vociferously :P

I would be shocked if the Celtics brass has not yet had him evaluated by a dream team of pulmonologists & internists from a Harvard hospital or Tufts or wherever. Boston has many such docs. He most definitely has already had a CT scan of the chest, various cultures & serologies (& maybe even a bronchoscopy if indicated) - aside from basic hematology labs & chemistries. They will also have looked for anything cardiac or cardiopulmonary - as an alternative etiology of his apparent dyspnea. (Dyspnea = shortness of breath.)

The knock I've always heard on the Nuggets then and now are that Joker plays with a team that has no other all-star. So that's why I figure they've never been considered a potential dynasty. Honestly, they haven't even had a 60 win season.

I see your point with the roster construction to counter Boston. But that being said, it doesn't seem to have worked so far. I know they won the other night, but even Thibs said they failed to keep the Celtics from shooting 3s, which had been their gameplan. Granted Boston went into an absolute ice cold tail spin in the second half, so it didn't matter.

Overall though, that wasn't really my point before that other dude came into the thread. Of course each fanbase is going to think / hope their team will win. My point was that a 5 year stretch of Champs getting bounced in the second round isn't really much of anything. It was a mistake to even respond to that LFGY dude.

No, the nuggets weren't, which was proven out. EVERYONE has been saying for years they are a one man show and that Joker needs more help. Don't act like it's any different than that. NOBODY was calling them a dynasty. In fact a lot of posters were saying they had an easy path.

And nobody was calling Milwaukee a dynasty either. Just stop.

Return to Boston Celtics
