and I was so wrong about him. A bit over a year ago I was all about "trade him for two 2nds instead of extending him" and HOLY CRAP was I wrong about his ceiling and chances of getting close to it.

My take was so wrong that I feel compelled, in parting, to now mention "Trevion Williams."

looks, everyone knows that man can PASS the ball!
Let's see where he is now...

oh, sweet screen grab on this! But alas I watched the first 4 minutes and while he looks pretty good, I didn't see a single pass. Will have to come back to this and watch more some time.
Anyway, our wager isn't over, Shak! I'm giving him at least until the Fall of 2026 before declaring victory -- and who knows, maybe by then I won't be the one declaring victory!

If PP stays with Boston after this contract, I still see PP as a perfect 6th man for years for us.. And I mean even when Jrue is gone. Too many mouths to feed would waste him as a starter. But his spark plug energy off the bench suits him well.

But I think PP (as well as myself) would really like to see what he could do as starter. I see PP as J Brunson lite. Meaning someone who could do a lot more as a starting PG than given credit for (when Brunson was on Dallas) or a Mark Price type of clone. PP is that good IMO.

Still think PP is a perfect fit for Utah one day. Danny did love him..

PP leaves only for a stud player in return. Give me Markannen lol.

PP is gonna win 6th man of the year multiple times. A Jason Terry type of guy. An Elite player to have on your team as the 6th man role is crucial to a team looking to win multiple championships.

The performances by Pritchard are top level. An interesting statistic is win shares (source: https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2025_advanced.html). Taking 1.4 WS as a minimum the list of 21 players qualified looks like this, in order per position (Curry and Lillard would have also made the list if they hadn't missed a couple of games):

Guards: Gilgeous-Alexander, White, Irving, Garland, Pritchard, Booker
Forwards: Tatum, Antetokounmpo, J.Williams, James, DeRozan, Powell
Bigs: Jokic, Sabonis, Towns, Davis, Allen, Vucevic, Sengun, Mobley, Gobert

Tatum, White and Pritchard(!) in some nice company.

Payton currently has 2220 career points. He will move into top 50 Celtics all time scorer by seasons end, at this pace or even if his scoring slows down a little bit. 50th is Ricky Davis, 2940.

I don’t think anyone could blame you. This season has been shockingly good. I said last he I thought he was a good bench piece to have and show up against lesser teams (I.e. wizards last year) but yeah. This year he’s really just super confident out there.

That's for dang sure! Even if you add Anton Watson, you still don't get there.

It would've been a Delon Wrong move if they traded PP.

DW?
Delonte West?

PP is what this team needs off the bench. A pest on defense and a microwave on offense. Keep it up

I'm a huge Pritchard fan-- but is Jrue Holliday still on the team?
