A lot of Tyler Herro apologists coming out of the woodwork on the Heat media side the last day or two. Feels like the team is covering it's back in case no deal gets done lol

When this is over Lillard will be wearing a Miami Heat uniform. This is how it always ends up. Players have too much power.

I disagree. Not without gutting their roster to the studs at the very least

I agree Corey Maggette at the super max would suck. He's also in his mid 40s. What does this have to do with Jaylen Brown? If you're comparing the two players its a pretty crappy comparison.

Jaylen is concerned with improving his game. Corey Maggette was more concerned with becoming Big Poppa Pump.

I thought the Suns had a legit plan when they traded for Beal. Maybe Ayton for a PG. Some good ring chasing vet mins.

No they actually plan on starting the season with Bradley Beal as their point guard. Wow.

Phoenix just saw Brad’s quote about having multiple offense initiators and decided it was a genius move by us so they dumped their PG.

When Paul Pierce was 26, Kobe, TMac and Marion were third team all NBA. Despite that depth at wing, Pierce would still have been worth a supermax. Brown rates so much higher in depth chart at wing now. It really is a no brainer to pay him as the asset he actually is —— separating emotion and frustration with his failings in the playoffs this year —— he is along with Tatum among the top 5 wings in the game entering their prime.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I'm not sure how it will turn out - Beal at PG for that team might end up looking like a horrible idea.

BUT the PG position isn't what it used to be. The suns might be looking at how many championships have been won in the past decade by teams with Steph or Jamal Murray at PG (both guys who are more scorers than passers) and they might figure, why not? Beal has posted some seasons with pretty high assist %.

C'mon now. JB is not Paul Pierce. Pierce was THE franchise player, THE best player on a team that went to the conference finals with a bunch of bum teammates - when Pierce was only 24.

Pierce is a top 50 player of all time and one of the most clutch players in NBA history.

I know for a fact that Brad isn’t trading JB. I asked him to do it weeks ago and got no response. Silence means no. He’s gonna be in Boston for a long, long time. Hopefully we get a couple of titles along the way but that still mostly hinges on Tatum taking that final leap (and some amount of luck) cos our depth will keep taking a hit from here on out with the way our top-end guys are getting paid. We just chose a third star (and hopefully extending White) over Grant + Smart then Brogdon at some point. Need more Walshes to pan out and less Ojeleyes to flame out.

Starting to think the real issues are 1. Salary cap is way too low and 2. MVP candidates are worth significantly more than the current smax figures.

This applies to the Celtics as well. The “true PG” some have been clamoring for past few seasons still isn’t here.

I just find it fascinating to say he’s concerned with improving his game when it’s been seven years as just about the same player, all while shuffling out some random clothing line no one cares about.

Jaylen Brown is Corey Maggette with higher usage in a 3pt shot era, they’re the same level of impact.

Only a small handful of guys on that list I like, or maybe have mild interest in based on what they are looking for. Might be like last year where a guy or two gets released.

Though only very vaguely interested in the Payne/Graham types, as cheap deep depth I suppose.

McDermott could get cut. Speaking of medium efficiency volume scoring lol. Any interest there?

Would the Spurs cut Bullock, he could be a poor man’s Grant replacement.

Oladipo could get cut from OKC. Or speaking of injury guys maybe Gallo gets cut lol. Maybe RobCov or Gordo Hayward could get released if a trade happened.

I realize I am the only poster who would bring this name up, but, where is KZ Okpala these days?

(Kings released him, but, is he technically still available on open market?)

If we move Brogdon or PP, Payne and/or Graham would be good backup PG options if either are bought out.
