Yup! He has all the tools, just has to get himself there. He could be an important piece this year if he's ahead at all.

I think the C's media have found their new quote machine.

So have KI, GH, and DT been cleared for 5-0n-5 yet, or will the C's be fielding a complete rehab lineup when training camp begins?

All 4 men are expected to be cleared by training camp. What more do you want?

RIght--that's why they'll be part of a training camp lineup. But that'll be almost a third of the team coming off injury right into the preseason.

But they are likely to be rusty, or in Rob's place a bit behind where he would have been in his live experience at this level otherwise.
I think that means more time early for the players who finished the year healthy--and playing well. Should make for an interesting dynamic to see how ready to go they really are by the regular season and how slowly they need to be brought along.

I just have a good feeling about this young man. He is country, but I think he respects Celtic tradition. I know Russell is an old man, but I would love for him to spend some time with RW.

So, uh, maybe get there at 6?

Basketball players don't need to be Rhodes Scholars, which is good, since I get the sense this kid isn't a Rhodes Scholar.

Is it a team mandate to get there at 6? Perhaps they want him taking it a bit easy due to his balky knee?

I'm sure it's not. But wouldn't be impressive to Al Horford if, when he got there, Williams was already there to put in whatever work he could put in?

Maybe not. Maybe there's no film to watch and his rehab is scheduled for later in the day. But he could still hang around and learn by osmosis. I dunno. It struck me as a funny thing for RWIII to say. "The vets get there before I do."

I am heartened by Brad's quotes. And I've always been one of the people saying we should give this kid a real chance even though he's mis-stepped a couple of times. So I guess I shouldn't get hung up on a couple of silly quotes.

It just seems like we are holding Williams to a higher standard now because of his earlier goof ups. I don’t ever recall a report of Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown coming in at 6 AM to work out and they both turned out just fine. From all reports, Williams has done everything asked of him since his rocky start and I read his quotes as more of a compliment to our veterans than a knock on himself

Yeah, probably am. (Which isn't all that unfair, frankly.) I know that's what he intended.

Tatum and Brown have always shown good judgment (maybe Jaylen shouldn't have guaranteed a Finals trip but w/e). If one of them had given a quote like this, I bet they would have ended with something like, "And that's inspired me to get there earlier."

It sounds like I care more about this than I do. As long as he can rebound and play D and keep out of trouble, great.
