Just looking, K Walker's contract is 2 years at about 8.7 mill. Not sure if/when Kemba can be traded.. But at 8 mill, a trade seems doable.. Not for us, overall I am saying..

The Celtics can't reacquire Walker until next year, so let's move on to real possibilities. And Kemba is toast no matter who trades for him.

Funny how the touted acquisitions of Kemba and Fournier fizzled. Who knows? Maybe Brad Stevens actually knows something about basketball.

wait, can't we get him now that he's been on the knicks since okc was his last team? I'm not talking about if we should, I'm just confused about nba rules.

OKC was the team the Celts traded Kemba to.

So Celts can acquire Kemba after Dec. 14.

I thought the rule was that a team that trades a player away can't reacquire that player for 12 months, no matter what.

Celts traded Kemba on June 18, 2021.

That means Kemba was traded before the start of the 2021-22 season.

The rule says:
A team cannot reacquire a player they traded away during that season (a season being July 1 - June 30) unless the player has been waived. Note: this does not apply to draft picks. If a team trades a player's draft rights, they can reacquire the player during the same season.

So the Celts traded Kemba during the 2020-21 season and the 2020-21 season ended on June 30, 2021.

Ok, this may have been mentioned somewhere at sometime on here. But what about a J Brown to Philly - Ben Simmons to Minny - KAT to Boston. (add whatever fillers needed)

Why for Philly??? Obvious answer is getting a better talent in return.

Why For Minny. - a much needed shake-up. Getting Simmons to facilitate to ball needy players in Anthony Edwards and DeAngelo Russell.

Why for Boston - getting a potential "better fit" and the age and injury status of Horford and Rob Williams.

I'd like to think a lineup of:

Horford - KAT - Tatum up front with [b]Smart and Romeo [/b](or J Rich Or Nesmith) will work better short and long term.. or Timelord in instead of Horford.

Especially with my feeling that J Brown and Timelord will battle knee issues a lot going forward..

**and of course only after both players get untracked and re-solidify their values.

Minnesota is basically playing better than ever and finally seems to have found a groove (for them). Why would they think this is the time to shake it up by trading away a center shooting 44% from the three on high volume while averaging 24 ppg?
Jaylen for Simmons is probably the best trade out there right now other than trading Jaylen, Smart, and Horford for a one season rebuild.

Seems like Philly would need to add value (maybe us too) but I would love to have KAT

Would it work though with TL & Horford paired with KAT? Should Tatum be a fulltime PF and would KAT/Tatum work in the front court?

Staring at ESPN's front page, I wonder if a Sabonis trade could make sense (though not for brown)

Horford / Sabonis / Tatum / Brown / Smart looks pretty nice on paper - trade centered around TL + picks/prospects
