Now that the Durant sweepstakes are over I’m sure the Jrue Holiday sweepstakes will pick up. Holiday is two years younger than Durant

Even if they are, they just gotta take back less than they send out.

Celtics get a young play D Carter, the 29th pick
Celtics after releasing Robinson save $17.5 million on payroll.

Expect this a 3:00 pm today.

Remove Phoenix and this works in the trade checker and am pretty sure gets Boston under the second apron.

Celtics get D Carter, 20th pick and D Robinson
Heat get DeRozan
Sac gets Holiday, Hauser & 28th pick.

SAC gets a screaming deal here, imo. But, maybe I'm too low on DDR.

My new favorite Jrue deal is to UTA for Sexton, Martin (filler) and 21. Maybe we send 28 or 32, but try not to.
We flip Sexton later for assets and less money.

HOU knows KD will be 37 when the season begins, right? What a complete haul for PHX

Looks like the 2025 pick is their own pick back.

And wasn't Crowder's trade value established to be 5 2nds?

Tommy Beer‬

On Opening Night of the 2022-23 season, this was the Suns starting lineup:

PG: Chris Paul (who led the NBA in assists and finished top-10 in MVP voting the prior season)
SG: Devin Booker (who was 1st Team All-NBA and top-5 in MVP voting the prior season)
F: Mikal Bridges (who was 1st Team All-Defense and finished second in DPOY the prior season)
F: Cam Johnson
Center: DeAndre Ayton

The Suns blew up that team (which was just two years removed from a Final appearance) by trading Bridges and Johnson and four unprotected first-round picks and five unprotected first-round pick swaps and five second-round picks for Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

Almost unimaginable.

Something like that

I like just straight Jrue to UTA for Sexton, 21 and Martin (filler). Weirdly, UTA doesn't have space to just take $. Austin knows our price and how good Jrue will be as a mentor for their current young guys and whoever they pick at 5.

Over 30 years ago, a woman pointed out that "two" people posting on Prodigy were really the same. Even though she and I didn't get along in the forum we shared, I PMed/emailed her with the theory that this might be a symptom of mental illness, in the form of the then newly popular Multiple Personality Disorder (later renamed to D.I.I.D.).

And that's how I met my future wife!

Future wife ? It's been 30 years what are you waiting for

Good haul for Phoenix, got more than I would have thought.

And agree the fit is very awkward in Phoenix with Jalen Green (remember when he was going to headline a Jaylen Brown trade?) and Booker/Beal. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if they made more moves with him now that the Durant timeline is over. I’m not expecting any trade there but Jrue Holiday is an elite fit if your back court is Booker/Beal.

Good all in move for Houston imo.

This idea has been around, but we haven't really mentioned it here, afaik. Cs have a fallback, last resort type option to get under the 2nd apron. Waive & stretch KP and send Hauser to TPE for a 2nd or 2. If you do that, you can keep Jrue, sign 28 & 32 and give Kornet $5.5M and still be under the 2nd apron.

The downsides are you get no value for KP and his cap hit is on the books for 2 extra seasons. But, it does give you some leverage in that you don't HAVE to trade Jrue. So, you can stick to deals that bring value back instead of paying to "dump" a really good friggin player.

My guess is we still trade Jrue, but get back more than people expect. But having this option makes it a little easier for Brad to hold the line.
