Portis brings nothing we need. I think he is solid but he is a big that doesn't protect rim - nuff said,

Mickey at 28.

This is false.

The Celtics can get away with playing three guard lineups because Rozier, Bradley and Smart are all so long and have great defensive ability.

Pressey was earning minutes for this team because of his defense on the ball and his ability to handle the ball and create off the bounce. Rozier can replace him, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him steal minutes from Bradley. He really is like Bradley, but more of a slasher, ball handler.

I think people will love him because he plays hard and with great energy. High, high upside pick.

Admittedly an overstatement. But I hold to my point - somebody's getting moved.

If Wyc really wants to sign two max players this tear, we're trading out of 28. Can't take the guaranteed salary hit

Also not sweating missing out on the early guys. After the top 5 I didn't think this draft was that great, and I've been cold on Winslow for a while after watching a lot of him at Duke (I'm an NC resident).

Yeah, I'd be okay with taking him at 28. Not 16. If we somehow manage to pick up Hollis-Jefferson or Portis, then I can at least pretend they were picked in the opposite order and it will be a decent result.

LeBron has MAYBE three great years left. His decline has already started.

I don't think it has started yet, but you'd be on the brink of being called for goaltending if you blocked that shot right now.

I wonder if these other bastard GMs play hardball to a much higher extent with Ainge knowing he as all these draft picks. Try to extract more since he has more to burn?

Definitely worth pointing out. Oubre, Portis and RHJ all sliding. Very interesting to see what happens between now and #28.

Oubre was picked 15th.

Lawson sipping weed and eating pizza, great investment for the Kings..

Maybe Danny called around trying to trade up and discovered a ton of interest in Smart, and thinks other teams value him above what he's worth..

Please stop with the "we already have four point guards" and "we need a rim protector" junk. You don't draft based on need. Danny picked the guy he thought was the best player available....and let's face it, there wasn't a bunch of sure things to choose from. We shall see.

Honestly, outside of trying to get Okafor -- and i bet we did give a godfather offer -- I am not upset. I just don't get getting this guy with IT, Smart and Bradley to go along with James Young and even Evan Turner. That's a lot of guards he has to jump over, and he can't shoot.

What the heck?

If he gets minutes. Until his defense Is on par with Tony Allens, everyone will feel he isn't ready for playing time yet.... As Olynyk checks into the game.

Well, they weren't able to move up. That's neither here nor there though. It's all about making a pick and taking your guy. If Terry Rozier becomes all the things that Avery Bradley is, but he can handle and get to the rim, finish and draw fouls? That's a damn good player to have.

The Celtics got more athletic and they bumped Pressey out of the rotation. They're better right away, and Rozier, unlike Portis is an elite athlete and has great upside. If he can become a knock down shooter? Sky is the limit.

It is both here and there.

That was the #1 goal tonight. They didn't get it done. Although you made clear how easy that would be for them to do.

What went wrong?

People fell in love with their selections. It happens. Always felt comfortable mining for gold in the middle of this draft and have been high on Rozier (thought he was a target at 28, so a bit surprised he went at 16). I'm a fan of the pick.

Tried hard to move up. In answer to why a trade didn't happen: "We just about gave them the keys to the franchise in some cases." (So they did offer a lot according to Wyc, but picks are expensive now.)

Wow. Must have offered a ton to try and get Okafor at 3. At least that's how I'm taking that last comment since the 9 pick isn't worth all that.

LBF, what happened bud? The sources are borked or is a trade brewing?

Should have given the keys to this damned Ford pinto

"Tremendous"

Look, every year, someone steals a guy who was undervalued. But if you think Terry Rozier is a diamond in the rough, trade back and get him. I'm shocked if that option wasn't out there. Atlanta did it with Oubre.
