All this changes is Brown, Jackson and Bentil can't be traded for 30 days and Zeller can no longer be used in a Sign & Trade package.
Also, Brown's salary now counts for salary matching in trade. Salary value in a trade was $0.00 until he signed.

You were rewatching the Republican convention?
Our political system is a train wreck. We're about 1 term away from a true third and 4th party taking root. The dems lost their next generation voters, the republican voters want a crazier future.
My my eyes, for example, I notice Texans and southerners think their environment is "the American way" then I see the melting pot areas like the Great Lakes, North east and pacific coast thinking that their environment is "the American way" both thinking their way is more American than the other. Both are giant bubbles technically speaking, yet so big it challenges the traditional term, "Bubble Community" Is it a question of which is more American? I don't think that way cause that's another reason to divide. The question I ask is, why would I want to make a southerner or a Bible Belter embrace what I call a personal liberty. Cause I don't want them to tell me who to screw, what to read, how to think, who to marry. I just think we have a lot to learn about accepting others ways of life, and the lesson is to try and not impose your personal beliefs upon all of society. Peoples egos make them think their way is the most righteous. So they play "little dictator in their fantasies and want others to assimilate. Pretty fascinating stuff.

So is it safe to assume Brown is probably staying or was there a deadline for getting Brown signed? Why do it now if he isn't staying?

So Brown's salary essentially matches Singler's contract dump?

There was no real space left and usually the rookies are the last to be signed. Because you can always sign them due to the Rookie Exception, you don't need cap space. But the minute you do sign him, he counts on the cap. So, they are generally last to sign. Jackson and Bentil went first because in order to give them more than 2 year deals, they have to use cap space. The Minimum Exception (Rookie or Veteran) only allows for a 2 year deal.
It is kind of complicated, but the ordering is not surprising. I don't think this makes a big difference if they were to deal Brown or not. The Cavs had to wait 30 days to trade Wiggins in the Love deal.
But I don't think Brown is going anywhere either. I think he's in Boston to stay.
